General Info
The Adelaide Festival City Smartplay Marathon is on 22 Aug this year. It will be the twenty first running of the event and is going to start and finish from Santos Stadium at Mile End.
It's a new faster road course this year with every possibility of an Adelaide Marathon race record being created. It could be just the course to attract possible Olympic Marathon runners who are aiming for a good time and gain Olympic selection next year. There will also be good cash prizes on offer for the Mens and Womens runners and racewalkers. This is an added bonus to all competing.
All finishers in the event will receive a medal and a certificate for finishing and there will be drink stations every five kilometres. The course has also been measured according to IAAF measuring standards and the Race Director is looking forward to attracting at least six hundred competitors to the Event.
Walkers and runners that expect to take over four and a half hours will start at 5.45am and those that expect to take under four and a half hours will start at 6.45am.
So if you want to run or walk a fast Marathon and visit one of Australia's most beautiful cities for a holiday please contact the South Australian Road Runners Club at 1 Sturt St, Adelaide, SA 5000 for further information.
