The Great Train Race isn't simply a race amongst fellow competitors - it's an exciting challenge competing against the steam locomotive, Puffing Billy! Explore the variable terrain along the race route through 13.5 km's of the Dandenong Ranges hills and fern gullies from Belgrave to Emerald Lake Park. NEW EVENT! Take on the new 4km Beach Fun Run on the iconic Bondi Beach. Get your running group together and take on a new challenge in 2017. Open to all ages 10 years old plus!The 4km beach run course will be run on the soft sand, starting at South Bondi at 8am. (Icebergs end of the beach). This is a unique event which is a great physical challenge in a scenic part of Western Australia, and all for a great cause to raise funds for The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Western Australia (MSWA). Darkness into Light is the annual fundraising event for a Suicide & Self Harm Prevention charity which provides free counselling services to anyone affected by suicide, self harm or depression. Part of the proceeds are donated to a similar, local charity in Melbourne to help support the fight against suicide. Melbourne is holding it's 3rd annual 5km walk/run this year on May 6th. Starting in the early hours of the morning when it is still dark and crossing the line as the sun rises. The Sri Chinmoy Sydney Series goes bush, to the sublime Royal National Park south of the city. Immerse yourself in pristine forest on a lovely trail run. Because you’ll want to enjoy this magical realm to the max, a full MARATHON joins the Half-Marathon, 10km and 5km for a full suite of classic distances. Parking is near Willow Tree Flat, past Audley. National Park admission fee of $12 per vehicle applies. Alternatively, take our shuttle van from Loftus Station for $10 return, departing regularly from 6.30am.
