Starting in Canberra and finishing in Jervis Bay, the Capital to Coast is a multi stage running event from ACT to the NSW Coast. The individual event is a 100km competition, with awards for aged & gender categories. Once again, team event options will also be available so you can share the distance over the weekend. Nowra Athletics Club invites medium and long distance runners to test themselves over the mid August weekend � 14 to 16 August 2015. A 10km prologue handicap event on Friday is followed by 8 stages covering a variety of distances on Saturday and Sunday. Hosted by Sutherland District Athletics Club. Race distances 1k, 2k, 3k, 5k, 10k & 21.1k. All runs are along the beautiful but undulating Lady Carrington Drive in the Royal National Park. Spring Trek Sydney is an annual 30 km, 4 person team trail walk/run to raise money for Room to Read, an organisation that promotes literacy and girls education in Asia and Africa. Set in the stunning Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, 50 teams will walk sections of the iconic Great North Walk less than an hour north from the heart of Sydney. There is an entry fee of $97 per person and each team of four must raise $500 as a team. The Silvan area of the Dandenongs is quite simply a magnificent part of the world and Race 3 is often the highlight of the series for many runners (despite being the hardest races). LONG COURSE 21km | MEDIUM COURSE 15.5km | SHORT COURSE 7km You'll race along trails that wind through mighty Mountain Ash that seemingly reach to the sky overhead, you'll run past lush tree ferns and gullies of verdant undergrowth all in the friendly company of the local birdlife, including crimson rosellas, kookaburras and the superb lyrebird. Sun 23 Aug PUB 2 PUB CHARITY FUN RUN & WALK (NSW)
Held annually on the 4th Sunday in August, The Northern Beaches most famous fun run attracts 5000 entrants annually to the challenging event annually that starts with a 800m sand start from the Dee Why Surf Club to Long Reef then winds its way along the beaches & coastal back streets providing the participants with some spectacular scenery along the way. The traditional end 13km later at local pub icon, The Newport Arms Hotel, is always a winner when entrants are joined by family and friends join the party atmosphere for a cleansing ale and bite to eat. The event raises over $400k for charity each year and is a joint fundraising project of Brookvale Rotary and Newport Arms and starts at 8am sharp. The Mudgee Running Festival is well known for its relaxed friendly atmosphere, perfect for the first timer who is looking for a no-pressure race, yet still a course that is challenging to the experienced marathoner. The course weaves itself through the picturesque Mudgee valley; past vineyards, wineries, farmland, grazing cattle, and a band of friendly and enthusiastic volunteers cheering you on! All entrants in the half and full marathon receive a quality Mudgee Running Festival shirt and finishers medal, as well as a complementary BBQ lunch. It's a fun family event with a great festival atmosphere. There's a jumping castle for the kids, a massage service for competitors, food & drinks, and very importantly, good coffee! The Misty Mountain Trail Run is a 5km, 11km, 20km, 30k, 40k and 50k trail running event inside the magnificent Wollumbin (Mt Warning) volcanic caldera and is organized in tandem with a MTB Marathon at the same location the previous day. This stunning area encompasses the massive 20 million year old shield volcano with surrounding views of the outer rim in every direction. From this area you can clearly see Mt Warning (Wollumbin) and the impressive 600m high crater wall reaching up into the Border Ranges National Park.
