Sat-Sun 23-24 May YMCA OF CANBERRA RUNNERS CLUB HALF MARATHON
For many years the Half Marathon weekend has been a major annual event in the calendars of YCRC members and other local and interstate runners and the tradition continues. Saturday 23rd May offers social runners and families a chance to compete in shorter runs, and Sunday 24th May is the day of the Half Marathon. Mark off the weekend of the 23rd/24th May in your calendars for the 2015 Half Marathon weekend! Rex Foulkes, in whose memory this event is named, was a local distance runner, who died in a road accident returning to Cooma from Canberra after a race in 1970. The first Rex Foulkes Half Marathon held on 13th September 1970 had just 24 finishers. In 2014 there were 373 entrants. The YMCA of Canberra Half Marathon Weekend comprises the Half Marathon on Sunday 24th May and two events on Saturday 23rd: a 1.6k Mini Jog and a 5k Fun Run.  contact: Gemma Ruddick. email: YMCACanberraHalf@outlook.com. Visit the website for more details.

Sun 31 May MS WALK & FUN RUN
The MS Walk and Fun Run is organised by Multiple Sclerosis Limited (MS). The MS Walk + Fun Run is an enjoyable, healthy way to join family, friends and thousands of other enthusiastic supporters and in doing so you will help us expose the invisible disease that is MS, a devastating neurological condition which affects four Australians every working day. By supporting the MS Walk + Fun Run we hope to increase people's knowledge of multiple sclerosis and urge the Australian public to dig deep and support people living with this disease. The MS Walk + Fun Run is an iconic event of the MS calendar and it's a great opportunity for the entire MS community and their friends, family and colleagues to come together. Entry for people with MS is free. The event also marks the end of MS Awareness Month which culminates in World MS Day on May 27. contact: 1300 733 690. email: events@ms.org.au. Visit the website for more details.
