43k, 21.5k, 10k. The event starts and finishes at the picturesque SkyHigh Mount Dandenong and runners are treated to a journey through the Dandenong Ranges National Park. Sun 25 Feb WANGARATTA MARATHON & FUN RUNS (VIC)
Grown from humble beginnings to a major regional carnival. Participants are treated to a friendly, thriving regional community, just 2 hours from Melbourne in the Ovens and King Valley Region. The courses are flat and fast and meander along the multi-use sealed paths next to the Ovens River and One Mile Creek through urban Wangaratta. The 10km fun run/walk course incorporates a lovely section of urban trail and the both 5km & 10km also follow the shared path to a lovely park and returning along a quaint boulevard bordering the city centre. All courses are accurately measures using the IAAF standard process. Entry includes bib chip timing for all events (start and finish mat) and customised finisher medals in each event (different colour for each event) along with approximately $10,000 of cash and prizes. Live entertainment, food and beverages, free parking and a baggage hold facility are some of the additional inclusions in the entry fee. All entry fees are value focused thanks to the support of our wonderful team of committed sponsors and volunteers. The Cradle Mt Run is a one day traverse of Tasmanian’s famous Cradle Mt to Lake St Clair Overland Track. The altitude of the track in several areas of the plateau is greater than 1,000 metres, and is well above the tree line. This low tree line illustrates the exposure and harshness of conditions that can prevail even in summer. RBC Race for the Kids is an exciting series of fifteen charitable runs supporting children's causes in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Luxembourg, Kuala Lumpur, United Kingdom, Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados and the United States. 2018 is the fourth year RBC Race for the Kids has been held in Sydney. Our goal is to raise over $100,000 for Ronald McDonald House Randwick (RMHR) and attract 1,000 runners. Funds will go towards helping RMHR make a home away from home for seriously ill children and their families and will support refurbishing an isolation unit and creating a sanctuary space at the Randwick House. The day is guaranteed to be fun for everyone who attends. We will have a live warm up before the race which will be followed by the family festival. Sat 17 Mar MAXIMUM ADVENTURE RACE SERIES - SUNSHINE COAST (QLD)
Short, fast and fun, and suitable for anyone and everyone with a real sense of adventure, the Maximum Adventure Race Series is designed to offer the perfect introduction to the exhilarating sport of adventure racing. Designed for teams of two, the races are fun, fast and furious with teams having to change between three core disciplines several times during the event… mountain biking, trail running and kayaking. These non-stop events will take between two to six hours to complete so there is never any time to get bored or tired – you will constantly be challenged throughout the race, physically and mentally! The Classic Course consists of 15-25km of mountain biking, 5-10km of trail running and 2-4km of kayaking. The Novice Course consists of 5-15km of mountain biking, 3-5km of trail running and 1-2km of kayaking. Note: There are multiple legs of each discipline, which add up to the distances quoted. Each event will require some basic navigation skills, although if you can read a street directory, you will be able to complete the course! 30th Geelong Half Marathon Sunday April 8, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. and 7 km run at 8:30 a.m. The Geelong Half-Marathon is a run for runners run by runners. The course along the banks of the Barwon River in Geelong is scenic and away from road traffic. This run always takes place on the first Sunday after Easter (Sunday April 8, 2018). The start is 8:00 am on the day and is easily found under the Moorabool Street Bridge in Geelong with plenty of nearby parking. There is over $3500 in prizes, additional spot prizes and medals for Half Marathon finishers. As in past years, there is a $200 bonus for anyone breaking the open records. Entry is online ONLY through our website www.gccc.asn.au or https://www.registernow.com.au . There are spot prizes of running shoes for early entries. Entries close Saturday April 7, 2018 (at MIDDAY). Adult entry is $65, Australian Health Card holders and under 18, $45. An additional feature is a 7 km run starting at 8:30am. Entry fee for this run is $30 for adults and Australian Health Card holders and under 18, $25. On-line entries are available now. Entry numbers will be capped at 1200 and a race time cut-off will apply. Cut-off is 50 minutes at 7 km and 1 hour 45 minutes at 14 km. Check our website. The Geelong Cross Country conducts this run with volunteers and a minimum of professional help so our donations to charity are maximised. Run the Prom. Wilsons Promontory National Park offers, Australia's most spectacular coastal ultra. Experience the sound of waves crashing on rocks, feel the sand under your feet, the wind in your hair and the water up to your waist as you tackle this wilderness paradise. The Prom 100 offers runners 44, 60 and 100 km run loops only 3.5 hours from Melbourne. Experience the 13th running of one of Australia's best coastal trail runs at Victoria's spectacular Wilsons Promontory National Park. The run is all on single track, rock, fire trails and beaches offering spectacular coastal views with approximately 10 km on sealed road. Depending on tide movements it may be necessary to wade across the creeks at both Sealers Cove and Oberon Beach. The Prom 100 is a self supported run, it is not a race. Runners are fully responsible for their own safety and assume full liability for their participation. Participants should offer assistance to other runners in distress. Due to Parks Victoria regulations, no support personnel or equipment is available other than at Tidal River. This is an arduous course with constant climbs that take a cumulative toll. The run has been scheduled for Saturday 05 May with the pre race briefing taking place just prior to the start. Weather conditions could be cold, wet and windy. Hypothermia is a serious risk and all runners should be prepared. The Prom 100 run should only be attempted by experienced trail runners with good navigation experience. The run will start and finish in the dark. The Dungog Dash and Dawdle is a cross country fun run which showcases the stunning hills and valleys of Dungog, the beautiful and historic Dungog Common. It is the key fundraiser of much-needed funds for the Dungog Shire Community Centre, the hub for all things community in the region. There is a 21 km half marathon trail run, 12km dash, 6km dawdle, Kids Dash or Dawdle (12 years and under) and a Doggy Half. A member of the Association of International Marathons & Road Races (AIMS), the 7 Sunshine Coast Marathon and Community Running Festival is one of the most-loved running festivals in Australia. Since its inception the 7 Sunshine Coast Marathon has raised over $1.3 million for charity and community groups. Located on the stunning Sunshine Coast, Queensland an hour's drive north of Brisbane this not-for-profit event has been timed to make the most of the ideal Queensland winter running conditions. Blue skies, low humidity and mild temperatures combined with a flat course always enable fast times. The course record currently stands at 2:18:30 set by Ethiopian, Samuel Woldemanuel in 2015. Event distances include the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km, 5km and the 2km. Each road race follows the stunning coastline of Alexandra Headlands with white sandy beaches and spectacular vantage points alongside the ocean. Standard distance 28.7k has been running for 11 yrs and the inaugural Ultra Distance 57.4k was incorporated into the event weekend in 2016. It was cancelled in 2017 due to cyclone damage. The course travels through the Conway National Park rainforest, ending up at the Airlie Beach Lagoon. Total entries are capped at 200. Run the 64km individually, or get a team of 2-4 members and share the load. The finish is on Four Mile Beach, Port Douglas. Short, fast and fun, and suitable for anyone and everyone with a real sense of adventure, the Maximum Adventure Race Series is designed to offer the perfect introduction to the exhilarating sport of adventure racing. Designed for teams of two, the races are fun, fast and furious with teams having to change between three core disciplines several times during the event… mountain biking, trail running and kayaking. These non-stop events will take between two to six hours to complete so there is never any time to get bored or tired – you will constantly be challenged throughout the race, physically and mentally! The Classic Course consists of 15-25km of mountain biking, 5-10km of trail running and 2-4km of kayaking. The Novice Course consists of 5-15km of mountain biking, 3-5km of trail running and 1-2km of kayaking. Note: There are multiple legs of each discipline, which add up to the distances quoted. Each event will require some basic navigation skills, although if you can read a street directory, you will be able to complete the course!
