Sat 30 May NEXUS CARE'S FRESH STARTATHON (QLD)
Take a step to feed a family in need! Hunger is not just a third world issue: 1.2 million Australians experience food insecurity, 1 in 4 South East Qld households can't afford basic groceries, and 50,000 children in Brisbane go without food. Nexus Care is passionate about making a difference to these statistics in our local community through the Fresh Start Food Program. Every month, Nexus Care provides approx 9,000 meals through our food relief program, which is equal to over 108,000 meals per year! Every week, Nexus Care supports four schools with fun, healthy school breakfast programs. Every fortnight, Nexus Care runs cooking classes to help empower people experiencing hardship with the skills to cook healthy, cheap meals for themselves and their families. By being a part of the Fresh-Startathon, you can help Nexus Care support more individuals and families in our Brisbane community with nutritious food and empower people with the knowledge and skills to provide healthy meals for their families. The event is light-hearted and fun with music, food, face painting, a jumping castle and a visit by Nexus Care's mascot, Apple Man! Prizes will be given to our top fundraiser and for 1st across the line in the events. All funds raised from the event will go towards supporting Nexus Care's Fresh Start Food Program. contact: 07 3353 7230. email: info@nexuscare.com.au. Visit the website for more details.

Sat 30 May WANDERLUST 108 BRISBANE (QLD)
Wanderlust 108 is a triathlon unlike any you've ever known. This "mindful triathlon" brings three events together in your favorite local park: a 5k run, an outdoor yoga experience, and a guided meditation -- but with a twist. Unlike most triathlons, we place community above competition, inner peace above power, and self-awareness above strength. We prefer slow food to fast run times. For us, winning is measured in laughs shared and new friends made. And unlike many events offering yoga and meditation, we combine our practice with a whole lot of fun. While we're pretty sure you'll be challenged during the day, we are equally sure you'll have a great time doing so. From live bands and DJs on our main stage, to lawn activities like hooping, slacklining and acroyoga, to our local food and craft vendors, there's a lot to do when you're not on your mat. For experienced trailites, the route still features stunning wilderness with coastal viewpoints you won't believe (and becomes a truly go-fast course with plenty of good twists and turns). From iconic Bells Beach (yes you run a short stretch of this hallowed turf) to the clifftops of Point Addis and Anglesea and on to Split Point lighthouse at Airyes Inlet: this course deserves to be renowned for the sheer experience of journeying through a unique natural environment . Sun 28 Jun FREYCINET TRAIL RUN (TAS)
The Freycinet Peninsula is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful locations in the world. With 26 km of exceptional track interspersed with pristine beaches this trail run will be hard to race with the temptation to stop for a swim or take in the view! We have two options for this trail run with a shorter 11 km circuit via Wineglass Bay and Hazards Beach, and the full 29 km circuit taking in Mt Graham and Cooks Beach. If this is your first trail run we strongly suggest you do the shorter circuit. We cannot take walkers on the long circuit due to the time it takes to complete that distance. If entering the 29km run you need to be capable of completing the course in under 5:30hrs. We recommend the 29 km run for experienced trail runners, the course is rough underfoot and is marked only with cairns in some parts of the track contact: Kris, (03) 62278520. email: info@endorfun.com.au. Visit the website for more details. Click here for an entryform.
