The Andrew Boy Charlton Biathlon Series commenced over a decade ago with over 10,000 people participated in this race series. With approximately 1,500 people that participate in the race each year the ABC Biathlon Series has become a favourite on the Sydney multi sports calendar each year. The ABC Biathlon Series consist of a 4km run in and around the Domain & Royal Botanic Gardens and is followed by a 300m swim in the Andrew Boy Charlton Pool. It takes place every Thursday night commencing at 6.30pm, Thursday 5th October 2017. There are all levels of fitness that participate, from your average Joe (and Jill) Sunday Jogger to your elite athlete. We've had superstars such as Pete Jacobs (Hawaiin Ironman Champion) & Lisa Norden (Olympic Silver Medalist at the 2010 London Games for Triathlon. The Bare Creek Trail Run is a great community event for runners and families alike. A 6km family run/walk and a 10km run for more experienced runners. It is a great way to experience the stunning Garigal National Park in St Ives. New is the St Ives Village 2km Dash for young ones to experience a short section of the Cascades trail and return. This can be a walk or run. This events is ideal for families with children of infants age or under. Whilst there are no prizes in the 2km Dash it provides a wonderful opportunity to introduce children to the excitement and fun of participating in such an event. An accompanying parent can run for free in the Dash. Fri-Sun 17-19 Nov GREAT SOUTHERN ENDURANCE RUN - 100 MILER - TEAMS (VIC)
A 100 mile endurance run like no other in the southern hemisphere. Starting in the ski township of Mt Buller, just 2.5hrs drive from Melbourne International Airport and with a downhill start � the Great Southern Endurance Run takes on the rugged and picturesque mountains and trails throughout the Victorian Alps. Runners climb over 9400m and descent 10,600m in their quest to get to the finish line in the picturesque township of Bright, Victoria. This event has been designed to be the gem of 100 miler events in the southern hemisphere. The point to point journey is epic, the trails are predominantly single trail and the historical Australian Alps Walking Trail is used for parts of the course. Based at Trial Bay Gaol, South West Rocks this event is made up of 5 legs for the juniors on Saturday afternoon starting at 12pm with a 250m run, 50m wade, 250m run for 5 year olds. 12.30pm start for a 500m run, 100m wade, 500m run for 6-7 year olds. 1pm start for a 100 swim, 3km cycle, 500 run for 8-9 year olds. 2.15pm star for a 200m swim,6km cycle, 1km run for 10-11 year olds finishing with the last race at 3.15pm with a 300m swim, 9km cycle, 2km run. Mon 3 Sep REVESBY WORKERS' CLUB CHARITY FUN RUN
This charity fun run, organised by Illawong Revesby Workers Athletics, will prove popular for regular runners and others happy to have a go and contribute to charity. This run will start at Marco Reserve, Panania, and take the runners, and walkers, around the adjacent Kelso sports areas. Two distances are available, a 3km and an 8km run. Prizes will be awarded in junior categories for the 3km run (up to 13, and 14-17) and in the 8km race there are prizes for up to 34 years, and 35 years plus.
