2018 will see the running of the 10th annual Hamilton Fun Run. The Fun Run covers three separate events, a 4.2km, 10km and a 21km course. The Dinner Plain Mile High Trail Run is set in the picturesque alpine village of Dinner Plain, at 1569 m. The 5 courses(1/5/10/21/32km)offer a great run for entry level runners to the more experienced trail runner, offering opportunities for mum, dad and the kids to get out and experience this pristine alpine environment. Short course distance of 1/5km and 10km are great for the kids and those just wanting to stretch their legs following scenic walking trails. For the more experienced, the 21/32 km courses take in more challenging and historic runs through the Alpine National Park. Soak up the pristine alpine environment and challenge yourself to run at an altitude above 1600 metres (one mile) and join the Dinner Plain Mile High club. �The alps offer a different environment for runners, not only is the air thinner at a mile high but the water is fresher and temperatures cooler. �Runners will certainly have to work a bit harder to join the mile high club�. Victoria�s Bass Coast offers fantastic trail running for people wanting to experience coastal trail running at its best. Enjoy running along rolling grassy slopes and sandy beaches and striding up gentle hills located between the cliffs overlooking the Southern Ocean and rolling green fields with cattle grazing contentedly. This is definitely a run for the beginner trail runner, the road runner that is jaded and wants to get out there for great scenery and great running and just wants to be re-invigorated by the great outdoors, as well as the experienced trail runner just wanting a great run. This delightful run takes in some picturesque coastline and deserted beaches on an out and back course. After the run there is the opportunity for a quiet drink and lunch over at the Kilcunda Pub or General Store and then an opportunity to explore the rail trail or Wonthaggi Coal Mine. The Wangaratta Marathon and Fun Runs is bought to you by Justin and Sharon Scholz of Wangaratta Fitness Fun Addicts. The event motto says it all - "More people moving more often". Entry prices for this event are much less than their counterparts and we take pride in that. We arent looking for big profits, but we are unashamedly looking to draw people to Wangaratta to enjoy the beautiful path networks and environmental surrounds of our thriving rural city. We secretly hope that we can encourage people to engage more in physical happiness and become more active than they were before joining our event. We measure success on entry numbers, total distance covered by entrants and return entries in future years. The Mount Baw Baw Trail Fest is set in the picturesque alpine village of Mount Baw Baw in the Victorian Alps and offers great Alpine running over 2 days. The courses offered provide a range of run distances (1/4/7/15/21/36/44km) for entry level runners right up to the more experienced trail runner, offering opportunities for mum, dad and the kids to get out and get a feel for this pristine alpine environment. Short course distances of 1/4/7 km on the Sunday are great for the kids and those just wanting to stretch their legs along scenic walking trails. For the more experienced, the 15 km, 21 km, 36 km and 44 km courses take in more challenging and historic runs through the Baw Baw National Park to Mt St Gwinear and Mushroom Rocks. The Jabulani Challenge is a stunning trail run through the Ku-Ring-Gai National Park in the north of Sydney. Predominantly on single track the trail has everything to offer from waterside tracks, rainforest, bushland, steep hill inclines and creek crossings. Exploring some of the hidden waterways that Pittwater is famous for its hard to believe you are only 30 minutes from the heart of Sydney. With three distances to choose from the event caters for hardened trail runners to social walkers. Sat 7 Sep COASTAL CLASSIC (NSW)
The Coastal Classic is a 30km trail run along one of the most stunning tracks in Australia, it has everything to offer from rocky terrain, sand running and beaches, to cliff-tops, bushland, rainforest and steep hill inclines. The scenery is spectacular with breathtaking coastal views on the beach and from the cliff tops. You literally feel like you are a million miles from anywhere. Set amid one of Australia’s oldest and wildest coastal terrains, in fact it is the world’s second oldest national park (after Yellowstone in the U.S), the Coastal Classic is a trail run along the Coast Track from Otford to Bundeena. With 29km of trails, beaches, sand and rainforest – this race has a little bit of everything with great views to top it off!
