The City2City Committee is a 100% local group who volunteer their time to create an amazing community event ensuring that all proceeds are returned to the local health service. In 2019, you have three options to take part in the Hume Bank City2City Run/Walk. You can participate in the: 10km fun run starting at 8.00am 7.5km fun run starting at 8.20am, or walk & talk starting at 8.30am All start on Dean Street, Albury City at QEII Square and incorporate Dean St, Wodonga Place, the Lincoln Causeway, Sumsion Gardens and South St and Elgin Boulevard in Wodonga, finishing at Junction Place. Participants in the 10km course have the added bonus of taking in the scenery at Gateway Island. The flat, on-road course provides for a great event for people of all fitness abilities. Water stations will be located every 2km along the course to ensure all runners and walkers are well hydrated throughout this event. St Johns Ambulance Australia will provide first aid assistance and ambulance services for the Hume Bank City2City RunWalk with a First Aid crew posted at the Start Area and the Finish Area as well as a mobile response crew en route. Sat 2 Feb CRADLE MOUNTAIN ULTRA RUN (TAS)
The Cradle Mt Run is a one day traverse of Tasmanian’s famous Cradle Mt to Lake St Clair Overland Track. The altitude of the track in several areas of the plateau is greater than 1,000 metres, which by world standards is not high, but here is well above the tree line. This low tree line illustrates the exposure and harshness of conditions that can prevail even in summer. Junior events for 5 years to 15 years will be starting mid Saturday morning from the beach comprising of 5 races of various lengths. Seniors start approximately 7.15am from Trial Bay beach near the catamarans with a 500m swim, 23km run and 6km run. Established in 2012 by Rohan Day from Big Long Run, and now managed by Mountain Sports The Roller Coaster Run has grown to a sellout crowd in 2015 and beyond. The event starts and finishes at the picturesque SkyHigh Mount Dandenong and runners are treated to a journey through the Dandenong Ranges National Park. The race course is a 21.5km loop and runners taking up the 43km challenge do a second reverse loop before once again finishing at SkyHigh Mount Dandenong. In 2017, Mountain Sports added a 10k option which has been extremely popular. We arent looking for big profits, but we are unashamedly looking to draw people to Wangaratta to enjoy the beautiful path networks and environmental surrounds of our thriving rural city. The Mount Baw Baw Trail Fest is set in the picturesque alpine village of Mount Baw Baw in the Victorian Alps and offers great Alpine running over 2 days. The courses offered provide a range of run distances (1/4/7/15/21/36/44km) for entry level runners right up to the more experienced trail runner, offering opportunities for mum, dad and the kids to get out and get a feel for this pristine alpine environment. Short course distances of 1/4/7 km on the Sunday are great for the kids and those just wanting to stretch their legs along scenic walking trails. For the more experienced, the 15 km, 21 km, 36 km and 44 km courses take in more challenging and historic runs through the Baw Baw National Park to Mt St Gwinear and Mushroom Rocks. The Six Foot Track is a 45km trail stretching across the Blue Mountains from The Explorers' Marked Tree, near Katoomba to Jenolan Caves. The marathon started in 1984 and follows the length of the entire trail. The inaugural takayna Ultra is a 70km ultramarathon fundraising event in North West Tassie to help the Bob Brown Foundation save takayna/Tarkine from logging and mining and to gain global support in nominating takayna/Tarkine as a World Heritage area. The Jabulani Challenge is a stunning trail run through the Ku-Ring-Gai National Park in the north of Sydney. Predominantly on single track the trail has everything to offer from waterside tracks, rainforest, bushland, steep hill inclines and creek crossings. The Canberra Times Australian Running Festival presented by TATA Consulting Services in Canberra has 5km, 10km, Half Marathon, Marathon and 50km Ultra Marathon events from Saturday, 13 April to Sunday, 14 April 2019. The festival is held over two days with the 5km and 10km on Saturday and the longer distances on Sunday. The Marathon is a circuit around Canberra taking in the sights of Parliament House and Lake Burley Griffin. 31st Geelong Half Marathon Sunday April 14 2019 at 7:30 a.m. and 7 km run at 8:00 a.m. Note: NEW TIME and DATE. Entries open Mid November The Geelong Half-Marathon is an event for runners organised by runners. The course along the banks of the Barwon River in Geelong is scenic and away from road traffic. This run has a NEW DATE AND TIME, and will take place on SUNDAY APRIL 14, 2019. The start is 7:30 am on the day and is easily found under the Moorabool Street Bridge in Geelong with plenty of nearby parking. There is over $3500 in prizes as well as additional spot prizes. As in past years, there is a $200 bonus for anyone breaking the open records. Entry is online ONLY through our website www.gccc.asn.au or https://www.registernow.com.au . There are spot prizes of running shoes for early entries. Entries close Saturday April 13, 2019 (at 4:00pm). Adult entry is $66, Australian Health Card holders and under 18, $46. Medallions to finishers. An additional feature is a 7 km run starting at 8:00am. Entry fee for this run is $36 for adults; Australian Health Card holders and under 18, $26. �Keep Cups� to finishers. Online entries open mid-November. Entry numbers will be capped at 1000 and a race time cut-off will apply. Cut-off is 50 minutes at 7 km and 1 hour 45 minutes at 14 km. Check our website. The Geelong Cross Country conducts this run with volunteers and a minimum of professional help so our donations to charity are maximised. Sat 4 May CONVICT 100 (NSW)
The Convict 100 is an ‘institution’ in Australia mountain biking! As one of the first marathon events established in Australia, it consistently inspires all entrants to push their personal boundaries. The 2019 event will be the 15th installment of the “Century of Dirt” and with 100km, 68km & 44km courses available there is a distance to suit riders of all skill & fitness levels. Hosted from the sleepy township of St. Albans only 2 hours North of Sydney, the course follows the historic Convict Trail through the heart of the Hawkesbury Valley, taking in some of the best scenery the area has to offer.
