The 35th Anniversary of the Lake Macquarie Running Festival will be convened on Sunday 25 August 2019. With in excess of 2,000 participants joining in the community event by completing the Half Marathon, 10.5km Fun Run or 4km Kids Scamper. The event follows the scenic shores of Lake Macquarie between Warners Bay and Speers Point (Hunter Region less then 90 mins North of Sydney). |Sat||31 Aug||MAXIMUM ADVENTURE RACE SERIES - ENOGGERA, BRISBANE
Short, fast and fun, and suitable for anyone and everyone with a real sense of and adventure, the Maximum Adventure Race Series is designed to offer the perfect introduction to the exhilarating sport of adventure racing. Designed for teams of two, the races are fun, fast and furious with teams having to change between three core disciplines several times during the event…mountain biking, trail running and kayaking. These non-stop events will take between two to six hours to complete so there is never any time to get bored or tired – you will constantly be challenged throughout the race, physically and mentally! The Classic Course consists of 15-25km of mountain biking, 5-10km of trail running and 2-4km of kayaking. The Novice Course consists of 5-15km of mountain biking, 3-5km of trail running and 1-2km of kayaking. Note: There are multiple legs of each discipline, which add up to the distances quoted. |Sun||15 Sep||THE GREAT WHITSUNDAY TRAIL RUN
The iconic course is a challenging 28.7 km through some of the best rainforest in North Queensland, traversing the Conway Ranges National Park via the Conway Circuit, with varying surfaces. The introduction of the 57.4km Ultra in 2016 proved so popular that it is now firmly placed on the event calendar, and travels the 28.7km course in an out and back loop. The 10.5k Honeyeater Challenge, to be conducted on the same day, starting and finishing at Airlie Beach Lagoon. The Harrietville Half Marathon runs from Bright to Harrietville along the Great Alpine Road in Victoria on Sunday, 6 October 2019. The event is organised by a local running group with a passion for running, health & wellbeing & the community. The "Harrietville Half" is planned to be an ongoing, annual event to encourage and promote healthy activities, fitness and lifestyle in our community. All proceeds will be donated to the Harrietville Primary School supporting "Excellence in Regional Education". Along with the half marathon, there are 2km, 5km and 10km fun run/walk distances. Start your weekend of fun, thrills and adventure with a mountain bike ride around the always interesting Rowallan Park tracks. Follow your ride with a flat-water paddle on the serene waters of Kinchant Dam in the picturesque Pioneer Valley then settle in for the night at the quiet campsite. Awake Sunday for a short drive to join the fun with the very popular Finch Hatton Gorge Adventure Run through the stunning rainforest and get a close look at the waterfalls but be prepared to get wet! Emerging as one of the must do events on the Sunshine Coast the Maleny RunFest (Mountain View Challenge) will be held this year on 13th October incorporating our signature event the Remax Hinterland half marathon. Elite runners enter this race to test themselves and to truly hone their fitness before taking on other challenges but most who enter are ordinary everyday people who just love running. Runners in this event can look forward to a few slightly challenging gradients which will test their stamina.. The course leaves the Maleny Showgrounds travelling to Mountain View Road encompassing one of the hinterland's most picturesque routes past Mary Cairn Cross Park with views of the Glass House Mountains.
