Sat 2 Aug THE BRIDGE MARATHON
THE BRIDGE MARATHON The Bridge Marathon is six years old in 2014. Commencing at Teralba Park Mitchelton and passing along paths through the picturesque landscape of Albert Park and the Boondall Wetlands, concluding at Crockatt Park Woody Point on the Redcliffe peninsular. Two well equipped pitstops are provided along the way, and runners' times and event leg positions are real-time logged via the Bridge website. Participants can walk, run or form a relay team to make this their own marathon. Invest in the freedom of Dalit children, and their future. This event is primarily to raise awareness and funds for the Dalit children of India. 100% of funds raised go to the Bridge of Hope program in India. Sun 31 Aug NIMBIN FUN RUN (NSW)
What an exciting year for this Years Fun Run, with a Bonus $500 for the first male and female to cross the line. The 2014 Nimbin Fun Run, to be held Sunday 31st August has received enormous support from local business once again this year. The Fun Run is a fantastic family fun day with loads of prizes, healthy foods and a relaxed atmosphere. Children can purchase a wristband for $5 and enter the many races and team games directly after the main event. The 5km run is for ages 12 and above, children 12-16 can enter for $15 and the open categories for $20. The race starts at the new time ,11.30am, entries close at 11am. The Twin Bridges track (East Black Mountain Road) follows the route of the original Black Mountain Road, to the east of the current road. It diverges from Black Mountain Road 27 kilometres from the Kennedy Highway and rejoins it 2 kilometres from the top of the Bump Track. Closed by gates at both ends, it is a multi-use track for trail runners, walkers and mountain bikers. Sun 23 Nov ZOO RUN - CURRUMBIN WILDLIFE SANCTUARY
Introducing our first ZOO RUN for Currumbin Wildlife Hospital. The ZOO RUN is a fun run where you'll run through Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. If you are a serious athlete take on the 5 kilometre challenge! Not so serious? No worries, how about a 2 kilometre family fun run / walk. You can even dress-up if you are that way inclined! We'll even have a prize for best-dressed entrant / team! The event will be starting at 6:30am and finishing by 8:00am. Of course, the ZOO RUN will be a fundraiser for the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital so you will be getting sweaty for a good cause! We'll need sponsors and supporters to get this organised, so please give us a call if you want to help this awesome event. We'll also need some volunteers! Prices are only $50 per participant for the 5 km run, or $40 per participant for the 2 km family fun run / walk. Riding in a pram or stroller is not permitted on the 5km bush track. Approximately 21.5 and 43 km trail runs, starting and finishing at SkyHigh. Experience the sunrise illuminating Melbourne from an elevated viewpoint.
