Three fun days of running on magnificent Flinders Island in Bass Strait. On Friday we will take you around a picturesque run of 5km at Trousers Point. On Saturday it is the 26km pub to pub run from Lady Barron to Whitemark. Run alone or make up a team. On Sunday it is The Flinders Five - a 5km run taking in the whole community. This is followed with The Fine Food Fare, wine and dine on local produce. Flights run regularly from Launceston and Essendon to Flinders Island. Celebrate the start of spring in one of Melbourne's beauty spots. Beautiful, leafy course along the Tan by the Yarra River and around Melbourne's Royal Botanic Gardens. Distance: 4 km or 8 km (once or twice around the course). Start time: 7.30 am. Location: Tan track at the Pillars of Wisdom, Alexandra Avenue, Melbourne, near Swan Street Bridge (Melway 2G A9), just a few minutes out of the CBD. Runners of all standards and ages welcome. No need to be a member of VRR. The 8 km distance is a handicap event. If you haven't run with us before, see the handicapper for a handicap before you run. Experience one of Victoria's most beautiful and best known wine areas on the run or walk in the second annual Yarra Valley Grape Run. With spectacularly scenic views of the valley and the Yarra Ranges, this community fitness event is a truly memorable experience, one not to be missed! Located less than an hour's drive from Melbourne, The Yarra Valley Grape Run is a unique event in Australia in that it is modelled on the illustrious South African Comrades Marathon, where the route alternates each year. Sunday September 12th 2010: Walhalla Wound-Up 50km, 37km and 19km Mountain trail runs: These races will start at 8 am behind Walhalla's Star Hotel and the finish will be at the same place. The courses are over the old timber tramlines and part of the Old Moe Walhalla Train Line, which are now walking tracks, as well as some of the roads in the area. The walking tracks are very rough and narrow in some parts, as are some sections of the roads, and should be treated with caution. The roads are mainly unsealed, and generally lightly trafficked. In all theses runs take in some of the historic landmarks that surround the famous old Walhalla Gold Fields. Geelong Half Marathon Sunday September 12, 2010 at 8:30 a.m. The Geelong Cross Country Club offers two Half Marathons in its race calendar. The first takes place on the first Sunday after Easter and the second is in September. The September Half Marathon is a no frills $15 entry run and acts as an excellent lead-up to the Melbourne Marathon. For non club members it is a chance to have a timed run over an accurate distance with some competition. Spot prizes, but not prices for placings, are available for non club members. The course starts under the Moorabool St. Bridge on the Barwon River and follows a scenic course along the river away from traffic. The course is flat and fast. Plenty of close parking is available and there is also a 5 km event conducted for family and less serious runners. The Ballarat SportzBiz 10k Classic takes in the main streets of Ballarat. Run Geelong 2010 is the only Run/Walk event in Australian where 100% of the Entry Fee goes to a charity and you also get a Free T-Shirt (for the first 5000 entries). 100% of the Entry Fee goes directly to Geelong Hospital Children's Ward Redevelopment. Celebrate the start of summer in one of Melbourne�s beauty spots. Beautiful, leafy course along the Tan by the Yarra River and around Melbourne�s Royal Botanic Gardens. Distance: 4 km or 8 km (once or twice around the course). Start time: 7.30 am. Location: Tan track at the Pillars of Wisdom, Alexandra Avenue, Melbourne, near Swan Street Bridge (Melway 2G A9), just a few minutes out of the CBD. Runners of all standards and ages welcome. No need to be a member of VRR. The 8 km distance is a handicap event. If you haven't run with us before, see the handicapper for a handicap before you run. 55 Kilometres [34 miles]. 7am start on the corner of Davey Street and Nepean Highway, Frankston. The traditional blocks of chocolate and mirrors to "have a good hard look at yourself" awarded to all finishers. Own support needed but we are usually able to assist you. The oldest established ultra in Australia, first run in 1973.
