A 100 mile endurance run like no other in the southern hemisphere. Starting in the ski township of Mt Buller, just 2.5hrs drive from Melbourne International Airport and with a downhill start � the Great Southern Endurance Run takes on the rugged and picturesque mountains and trails throughout the Victorian Alps. Runners climb over 9400m and descent 10,600m in their quest to get to the finish line in the picturesque township of Bright, Victoria. This event has been designed to be the gem of 100 miler events in the southern hemisphere. The point to point journey is epic, the trails are predominantly single trail and the historical Australian Alps Walking Trail is used for parts of the course. 100 mile-100 km-60-36 km Individual-Team-Relay Challenge The Alpine Challenge is without doubt the toughest, most challenging, most spectacular and rewarding mountain trail run in Australia, if not the southern hemisphere over four distances. The 100 mile (160 km) course takes in 6 major climbs with 7,600 m of ascent and descent including Mt Feathertop, Mt Hotham, Mt McKay, Spion Kopje, Mt Nelse and Victoria's highest mountain, Mt Bogong plus five river crossings. The 100 km involves over 4,000 m of ascent and descent and the 60 km course over 2,000 m of ascent and descent, whilst for those undertaking the 36 km run you will have over 1,300 m of ascent. contact: Paul Ashton. The Seaford Wetlands Fun Run in Seaford, Victoria has 2km, 5km and 10km running/walking events on the seaford wetlands walk, a 3km sealed walking/cycling track. This event is organised by Rotary Peninsula 2.0, in conjunction with Seaford Little Athletics to help support the Kindred Clubhouse programme. Kindred Clubhouse is a place built to provide respect, hope, friendship and opportunities to people living with mental illness. This centre on the Mornington Peninsula will be a necessary addition to greatly assist a diverse range of individuals. Starting in the reserve adjacent to the caravan park, this delightful run takes in some picturesque coastline and deserted beaches on an out and back course. Grown from humble beginnings to a major regional carnival. Participants are treated to a friendly, thriving regional community, just 2 hours from Melbourne in the Ovens and King Valley Region. The courses are flat and fast and meander along the multi-use sealed paths next to the Ovens River and One Mile Creek through urban Wangaratta. The 10km fun run/walk course incorporates a lovely section of urban trail and the both 5km & 10km also follow the shared path to a lovely park and returning along a quaint boulevard bordering the city centre. All courses are accurately measures using the IAAF standard process. Entry includes bib chip timing for all events (start and finish mat) and customised finisher medals in each event (different colour for each event) along with approximately $10,000 of cash and prizes. This classic Alpine run offers three challenging distances in some of the most spectacular country in Victoria's Alpine National Park. The 64 km Razorback Ridge run takes in the entire length of the Razorback to offer some of the most stunning ridge running and scenery in the Australian Alps, the 40 km Razorback Circuit and the 22 km short course Razorback Ridge - a delightful day out up to the Summit of Mt Feathertop and back along the Razorback. This superb run is one of Victoria's classic alpine runs, 3 distances - 45/36/22 km covering superb scenery taking in the beautiful Delatite River, the historic Klingsporn Track, majestic Mt Buller, Mt Stirling and the historic Craig's Hut. Take in views across to some of Victoria's great alpine scenery, the Crosscut saw, Mt Speculation, Mt Buggery, Hells Window and Mt Magdala. Set in the heart of Victoria's high country the Mount Buller Skyrun is one of the most amazing high altitude runs that Australia has to offer.
