The Mount Buller Skyrun offers three unique runs: 22 km introductory trail run from Mount Buller to Mount Stirling and back. 36 km mid distance course from Mount Buller to Mount Stirling and then a quad busting descent to the Delatite River before a gut wrenching 1200m climb to the summit of Mount Buller. 45 km ultra course which takes in Mount Stirling, Craigs Hut, great views over the Crosscut Saw and the Bluff, a scenic jog along the banks of the Delatite River and a final crushing climb to the summit of Mount Buller itself before an exhilarating 2 km descent to the finish line. The Tungamah Ten Thousand Day is for the family with 5km and 10 km fun runs plus a 3km for under 16s and shorter distances for the littlies. The O'Keefe Rail Trail Marathon runs along the historic rail trail that joins Bendigo to Heathcote. The surface is suitable for both trail runners or also road runners and similar to the famous tan track in Melbourne. Fast times were run in the inaugural event last year. Events include the marathon, half marathon, quarter marathon, mile and the popular Ekiden relay where a team of 7 will run over the marathon distance. Set on the grounds of Werribee Mansion and Werribee Park, The MyPhysio Werribee Mansion Run starts and finishes on the lawns of the magnificent Werribee Mansion. 29th Geelong Half Marathon at 8:00 a.m. and 7 km run at 8:30 a.m. Easily found under the Moorabool Street Bridge in Geelong with plenty of nearby parking. There is over $3500 in prizes as well as additional spot prizes. As in past years, there is a $200 bonus for anyone breaking the open records. Entry is online ONLY through our website www.gccc.asn.au or https://www.registernow.com.au . There are spot prizes of running shoes for early entries. Entries close Saturday April 22, 2017 (at MIDDAY). Adult entry is $55, Australian Health Card holders and under 18, $40. An additional feature is a 7 km run starting at 8:30am. Entry fee for this run is $25 for adults and Australian Health Card holders and under 18, $20. On-line entries are available now. Entry numbers will be capped at 1200 and a race time cut-off will apply. Cut-off is 50 minutes at 7 km and 1 hour 45 minutes at 14 km. The Great Train Race isn't simply a race amongst fellow competitors - it's an exciting challenge competing against the steam locomotive, Puffing Billy! Explore the variable terrain along the race route through 13.5 km's of the Dandenong Ranges hills and fern gullies from Belgrave to Emerald Lake Park. Darkness into Light is the annual fundraising event for a Suicide & Self Harm Prevention charity which provides free counselling services to anyone affected by suicide, self harm or depression. Part of the proceeds are donated to a similar, local charity in Melbourne to help support the fight against suicide. Melbourne is holding it's 3rd annual 5km walk/run this year on May 6th. Starting in the early hours of the morning when it is still dark and crossing the line as the sun rises.
