Wangaratta Marathon & Fun Run in rural North East Victoria gives runners the opportunity to target a personal best times on accurate, flat, yet scenic courses, whilst also encouraging greater community participation. Our Community Teams and Primary School challenges are designed to encourage participation, which supports our overall mission on to encourage 'More People Moving More Often'. Choose from the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km or 5km and let your primary aged children participate in the 2km Primary Challenge. There is free secure bag storage at the start/finish area, frequent aid stations, a welcoming finish area and generous post-event refreshments. Also treat yourself to the free YMCA massage centre. The Warburton Up and Running Fun Run is staged in one of the most beautiful, scenic and easily accessible parts of the Upper Yarra Valley east of Melbourne. You will run alongside the clear waters of the Upper Yarra River, among towering Mountain Ash forest surrounded by beautiful mountains. The Carrum Coast Guard Around the River Fun Run is a 12km and 6km fun run around Patterson River in Patterson Lakes, Victoria. There will also be a full range of family entertainment including free 350m kids run; BBQ food for sale: bacon, eggs, sausages and onions; and great prizes for winners. The Mount Buller Skyrun offers three unique runs: 22 km introductory trail run from Mount Buller to Mount Stirling and back. 36 km mid distance course from Mount Buller to Mount Stirling and then a quad busting descent to the Delatite River before a gut wrenching 1200m climb to the summit of Mount Buller. 45 km ultra course which takes in Mount Stirling, Craigs Hut, great views over the Crosscut Saw and the Bluff, a scenic jog along the banks of the Delatite River and a final crushing climb to the summit of Mount Buller itself before an exhilarating 2 km descent to the finish line. The O'Keefe Rail Trail Marathon runs along the historic rail trail that joins Bendigo to Heathcote. The surface is suitable for both trail runners or also road runners and similar to the famous tan track in Melbourne. Fast times were run in the inaugural event last year. Events include the marathon, half marathon, quarter marathon, mile and the popular Ekiden relay where a team of 7 will run over the marathon distance. 29th Geelong Half Marathon at 8:00 a.m. and 7 km run at 8:30 a.m. Easily found under the Moorabool Street Bridge in Geelong with plenty of nearby parking. There is over $3500 in prizes as well as additional spot prizes. As in past years, there is a $200 bonus for anyone breaking the open records. Entry is online ONLY through our website www.gccc.asn.au or https://www.registernow.com.au . There are spot prizes of running shoes for early entries. Entries close Saturday April 22, 2017 (at MIDDAY). Adult entry is $55, Australian Health Card holders and under 18, $40. An additional feature is a 7 km run starting at 8:30am. Entry fee for this run is $25 for adults and Australian Health Card holders and under 18, $20. On-line entries are available now. Entry numbers will be capped at 1200 and a race time cut-off will apply. Cut-off is 50 minutes at 7 km and 1 hour 45 minutes at 14 km.
