Sun 17 Jun SHADFORTH FINANCIAL GROUP STEP UP FOR MSWA
Do you have what it takes to conquer the 1,103 steps to the top of Central Park? The Shadforth Financial Group Step Up for MSWA is a unique vertical climb to the top of Perth's tallest building. Run, walk or crawl to conquer the 53 flights or 1,103 stairs. You can do it solo or get a team together (max 12) and take up the challenge. All funds raised from this event go to supporting the thousands of people living with MS and other neurological conditions here in Western Australia. Sun 1 Jul GERALDTON HARRIERS RUNFEST & MARATHON
Geraldton Harriers RunFest & Marathon from Saturday, 30 June to Sunday, 1 July 2018 has a full marathon, half marathon, 10km and 5km running and walking events; and 1 mile, 2 mile and 3 mile events for kids. The event is based from the Geraldton Yacht Club and the course will extend along Champion Bay, St Georges Beach, Chapman River, Pages Beach and Point Moore. There are school and corporate team challenges. Fri-Sun 17-19 Aug THE 7 SUNSHINE COAST MARATHON (QLD)
A member of the Association of International Marathons & Road Races (AIMS), the 7 Sunshine Coast Marathon and Community Running Festival is one of the most-loved running festivals in Australia. Since its inception the 7 Sunshine Coast Marathon has raised over $1.3 million for charity and community groups. Located on the stunning Sunshine Coast, Queensland an hour's drive north of Brisbane this not-for-profit event has been timed to make the most of the ideal Queensland winter running conditions. Blue skies, low humidity and mild temperatures combined with a flat course always enable fast times. The course record currently stands at 2:18:30 set by Ethiopian, Samuel Woldemanuel in 2015. Event distances include the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km, 5km and the 2km. Each road race follows the stunning coastline of Alexandra Headlands with white sandy beaches and spectacular vantage points alongside the ocean. The Half Marathon is a one loop course with Marathon entrants completing a multi loop course (1 x 21km + 2 x 10.5kms) making the most of the on-course entertainment and crowds of spectators before a red carpet -hero- finish. With a distance to suit every ability and age group, this community-focused, world-class athletic event caters to all those wanting to take part, including families and those with both physical and intellectual disabilities. The 2km event allows parents with prams and wheelchair entrants to take part and enjoy the festival atmosphere. There's a smorgasbord of events on offer ranging from the 100km solo run to the 50km, marathon, half marathon and 10km runs. Perhaps you can choose the 100km or 50km bicycle chase where entrants are given arrest warrants to chase down the runners on course.
