Coaching sessions have re-commenced

Coaching sessions will continue as normal each Wednesday and Thursday nights 5pm-6pm starting from Feb 1. We would encourage all athletes to attend but especially those competing at regionals and hoping to nominate for state championships.

Please do not check the 'Weather Watch' on the left as it only applies to Friday night meets. If anyone has any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Glenn Carpenter via email or telephone 0423 816 573

Western Suburbs Day - February 24

Is an annual event held between Kenmore Little Athletics, Toowong Little Athletics and Centenary Little Athletics. It is a fun and friendly day where all athletes compete for their club, get to socialise with our western suburbs neighbours and compete for a trophy for the club. Note this is a Saturday as it is being held at Toowong this year and this is their meet time. Any queries please feel free to contact any of the committee but I would encourage as many athletes as possible to attend as it is a fun day.

McDonalds All Comers Clinic

This is a clinic that we run successfully at the club last year. It involves coaches from Little Athletics Queensland attending our meet night and running specific coaching sessions for the older age groups. We have proposed a date of 10th February but this is still yet to be confirmed. It will be run in conjunction with a normal meet but is a great opportunity for our athletes to obtain some extra coaching for specific events. We will provide further information as it is confirmed.

Important information on REGIONALS

Regional Competition will be held on 4th and 5th February, 2012 with no meet night on the Friday night. I would encourage every athlete to nominate for this competition as it is a great way to socialise and compete against other athletes from the Met West Region. A calendar of the weekends events can be found on the LAQ website or contact me and I can send one out. There is no cost to this carnival as it is covered in your registration fees. U6's are unable to compete in this competition but all other age groups are eligible and athletes can choose up to 5 events to compete in. Parents will also be required to assist at this competition but those details will be sent at a later date. Nominations must be in by 20th January so if you are unable to attend the first meet night on 20th January you will need to email your nominations. Little Athletics Queensland will not accept any nominations after this date.
