Cool Running Coach: Ian Kemp
|
Dr Ian Kemp is an experienced distance runner and enthusiatic member of the Kembla Joggers running club in Wollongong. He is a level 1 athletics coach, with a special interest in middle distance and endurance running. He coaches a small group of younger athletes in Wollongong and Kiama, and is the running coach with Albion Park Little Athletics.
Coolest running experience: "Without a doubt, running the 351km Anglesea Clinic 'Fit For Life' Relay in New Zealand with a Kembla Joggers in 1996. It was actually the first time I have ever competed as part of a team, and to be with the team really added a lot to an already good event." Burning Ambition: "Well, I have to go back and clock that 3 hour marathon, as the 3:02 p.b. in Melbourne is just too tantalising! Also I have found from coaching a lot of satisfaction is being able to encourage others to get the most from their running." |
