Course Description :A very difficult run on fire trail and technical single-file bush tracks. Lots of up and down. Great views but very hard work. For the bush lover.

Course Summary :This Fat Ass run starts in Berowra at the northernmost extreme tip of Sydney Suburbs, bordered by the Kuringai Chase National Park, once occupied by the Guringai tribe of aboriginals.

The run starts with a short road section, then some firetrail and narrow bush tracks through Berowra, to the ferry at the most impressive Berowra Waters. Cut short here for the Piker's Option by returning from whence you came. Continue across the ferry, along the road for a short while to Berrilee, and along a fire trail to The Ruined Castle Of Calabash close to the waters edge. The route makes its way back the same way, across the ferry, and up to the start. This completes the Standard Challenge Option.

The Tough-As-Old-Boots and Marathon Options continue to Berowra Railway Station, down the bush track to Waratah Bay and along the waters edge to Apple Tree Bay and on the road section to Bobbin Head. This entire track is single file and fairly arduous. From Bobbin Head, follow the Warrimoo and Sphinx Tracks, up to the Sphinx monument and make your way back to Bobbin Head via the Bobbin Head Track. Continue to Apple Tree Bay, and take the Mt Kuringai turnoff to Mt Kuringai Railway Station, and back to the start at Berowra via the Pacific Highway. (Note: The Marathon option misses the Apple Tree Bay/ Bobbin Head circuit and just cuts up to Mt Kuringai and the finish). Good Luck in your challenge !

Aid Summary :As there will no aid supplied, you should carry at least one water bottle. Luckily there are reasonably frequent water taps (5km-10km) and even a few opportunities to buy coke/ juice/ food making it very feasible to run unsupported by crew.

You should also bring along a plastic envelope or something to keep the map dry if it rains or if you sweat heavily.

Intending Runners :If you read the introduction about Fat Ass runs and are still keen to run then email me
