The alarm went at 7.15 am and the drizzle of rain continued as it has for the last week. So got up, had breakfast (stewed apples and skim milk yoghurt and a cup of tea with skim milk), and got ready for a wet run. Drove 40 mins to Wirilda Park Tyers and the clouds broke up and lovely blue sky emerged. So the run was warm and humid instead of damp and cool. Luckily I had a very respectable new black bra with purple trim on , so ditched the warmish tank top for most of the run and felt great. I put the tank back on 500 m from finish in case the oldies waiting were a bit shocked at the bra. Possible because my partner helped out on course so I was able to pick it up from the car at the bottom of the final big hill. He also took the pics, usually with head chopped off or strange angles etc but piccies anyway.
There were 2 steep hills that I walked up, but all the rest of the time I ran slowly up. I knew I wasn't quite fit enough to do this run justice, but never felt bad, just not quite able to run as quick as should be possible in a month or 2. I did the 16.07 km in 2 hrs 13 min, pace = 8.19; speed average 7.7 km/hr. Overall this week my mileage was 45.49 km, last weeks was 38.09 km, the week before 46.71, and the week before that 28.74. So coming along OK.
