Clearly, now my PB is closer to 2:50 than 3:00, all I can think of is getting a time that begins with 2:4X.
Well, I've had a roller coaster few weeks, but I've ended up in a really good place.

Recovery has been good. Runs (all under 60 minutes) riding and a couple of swims. Legs don't feel fresh but the soreness was gone by Wednesday. Got a tightness in my left calf and my injury is aching a fair...

FINALLY broken through the 2:58 barrier.

The race didn't go exactly to plan - although pretty close to it. The only hiccup (if we can call it that) was a very necessary bathroom break just before the 18k...

I have no idea who is entered into Cities (apart from a couple of friends I am regularly in contact with). And, very, very honestly I don't care and I'm not going to try and find out. This race is about me. I want a new PB. I don't give a damn if I finish dead last, as long as I can get past that stupid 2:58 barrier....

Quick update. I entered the Hunter Valley Half Marathon in the hope it would give me an indication of my form in the lead up to Cities Marathon. Unfortunately, I didn't realise what a bugger of a course it is!! I won, but with the time of 1:27 I'm really hoping it's not indicative of how I'm going to run in the marathon in a couple...
