now, i really dont get what sunday runs are for. i mean, people say they are meant to get the lactic acid out of you and just refresh you, but wouldnt it just be better to not run a all on a sunday to get all the lactic acid out of you? because after my sunday run i am usually pretty tired and generally feel worse. could people please give me some advice on it. is it meant to be a training session?

I find doing a run the day after a race helps even if i feel tight and sore. it helps to freshen me up and run the bad stuff out of my legs. and no it's not meant to be a session you can do it as slow as you like. it also helps to get your weekly mileage up. hope this helps mate

It may have taken Icc 2 years to get a response, but it's good to see he finally got one.

Steeples loves digging up old dead threads lol its all good though.
i wonder who LCC was and if he is still running ? he did have some good ideas/questions.
Maybe he overtrained himself to death because nobody helped him on here lol

Bump. Any post that waits 2 years for a response deserves to stay on the home page a little longer.

I bet it can't stay on the front page for two years though.

But we could always try.
Getting back on point, the Sunday run is a result of many of the Cross country and track races were/are traditionally held on Saturdays, due to the build up of Lactic in the legs from quicker running in the races, there was a need to disperse the lactic from the legs, so the Sunday run was born.
Anyone who has done a race and taken the next day off will recognize the feeling in the legs the on day 2.
The Sunday run is not meant to be a hard effort, but an easy run.
