6ft entries are about to open, so it is time to identify those hardy souls (soles?) willing to assist the newbies at 6ft, and some oldies in the early wave whose performances are not, shall we say, quite what they were looking for.....

I am co-ordinating the 7 hr pacers and the Grim Sweepers again. I need experienced 6 footers who are, for whatever reason, happy to trot along at exactly 7 hour pace as a pacer, or as sweepers willing to stay with the last runner standing (stumbling) right at the back (typically 7:30 pace) diplomatically retiring those they catch.

Pacers do not retire anyone, just encourage those they catch to pick it up, and try and talk some sense into those that are not going to make it.  It is the job of the 2 grim sweepers to take care of those that are well off the pace.  Rumour has it that to be ecologically sound and the real reason the track is called 6ft is that the sweepers bury their victims 6ft off the 6t track, 6ft under.

So, if you have a few 6ft's under your belt (or even have your buckle!) and are looking for a cruisy and very rewarding Big Day Out then please drop me an email to discuss.  I have swept/paced many
times and it is really a great experience.

Look forward to hearing from you...
