I have just noticed the 24 hr track race has been moved to Sydney. As this is a target race for me next year it is of great interest as this puts it much closer in travel terms. Was just wondering if the move will make a big impact to other people with an eye to enter.

i'd be out too. if they alternate each year does that mean next years Australian championship is in Sydney as it was at Coburg this year. Then 2013 Brisbane would hold the champs??? i guess Gold Coast 100 for me in 2012.

Thanks for the info Reddog.
Shame it is the week before Goldcoast Marathon.
3 weeks later and I would of been in, maybe 2014 when it is back in Sydney.
If I am still running long then!

If we thought it was cold in Brisbane this year, What'll it be like in Blacktown?

I've started working on the wife (surely she fancies a winter weekend weekend in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs).

Next task is a day off work on the Friday so we can drive down.

All goes well, I'll see you there.

200km or bust!

Pity that Caboolture and Adelaide are so close together. That's going to be to the detriment of them both.

Even better news Blacktown is in the Western suburbs near the tourist mecca of Rooty Hill!

Whoops! Momentary lapse of geography (Paul Every will see the Floyd reference).

I would have no trouble getting her to The Eastern Suburbs!

Don't think they open up entries until about 2 months out usually, the SCT always put on an awesome event.

Focusing on Coburg in April first. This is my favourite event as it was my first ultra. Definitely be there in some capacity.

Typo it should read 14th july but check with rd and race website.

Haven't done a track 24 for a few years but i'd say a return to coburg for me in april is more likely than syd in june.

coburg to adelaide seems typical Gann 91 days time vibration, as 1/4 of the year circle

needs either some serious hard testing session on 45-46 day
or some shorter but sharp sessions around 30 and 60 days
to make the 91 day cycle validsorry could not resist this setup

I'm in. Tasks are now:

1.     Complete Caboolture Dusk to Dawn and still be enthused about running in circles for hours on end, and
2.     Try to organise the Friday off work in order to get down to Sydney.

Usually up until one week prior to the event. Not sure if there is a cap on numbers for the event, for the past 3 years there has been roughly 40 runners over the 3 distances so numbers wouldn't of been a concern for the SCMT.

Plu, I emailed the organisers with a similar question - and they are planning on capping the numbers, but I'm not sure what to.

Why don't you send them an email and let them know you're holding off at present, but have good intentions.....they might be able to let you know if the numbers are getting close.  I found them really helpful with my questions.

5 minutes from home, doesn't get any better than that.  I'm in for the 6 hour.

Only done marathons before so I'll have to some serious training, looking forward to it.

I have entered the sprint option of 6 hours. On a good day for me the age record is tempting. A little over 63k's. Nice to see it starts atthe very pleasant time of 12 noon on Saturday.

I've no idea how people run for 24 hours.  Very interested to see how it all unfolds during the event and see what I can learn out there.

I signed up for the sprint option as well. Might be a bit silly of me seeing as it's 5 weeks out from my target marathon (M7), but I figure it'll be a decent long run if I don't overdo it.
