Did a search on the site and couldn't find any info about recycling old running shoes.
I think that in the US they are broken down and re-made into running track material.
Thanks to Google, I found this charity:
http://shoesforplanetearth.com/
Was thinking of rounding up friends and family to throw out their old pairs.
The organisation looks good and a worthy cause. Anyone else had experience with them?
Seems the shoes have to be washed, tied together and no holes and good soles.

Yes I have had very good experiences with them.
Great people, Viv & Nick have been around the running scene for many years. They put alot back into the community.
This is because they are sent to local and overseas organisations for use by people. Clean and safe, usable shoes are something we take for granted but are a luxury to many people.
There are a fair few pick up points and other options available to donate shoes to them.
