I have come across a few different posts and stories of people talking about the Grand Slam of Australian Ultras but every one I have read seem to have different races so what are the actual races for the grand slam? Is it official or is it an unofficial bunch of races known amongst the Ultra running community?

Also, apart from Australia, the States and the 4 Deserts are there any other country's that have a grand slam?

Thanks in advance :D

Thanks but this is a poll about what should be the grand slam so it doesn't really answer my question :(

Thanks RBR, I'm guessing there isn't an official list of races for it but at least the idea is out there. I remember reading about Jane Trumper claiming to be the first woman to complete the Aussie Grand Slam, what races did she complete does anyone know?

For 2 years AURA had the Australian Grand Slam as.
September Glasshouse 100 miler
October GOW100 100 miler.
November GNW100 100 miler.
December C2K 240+km

Last year GOW100 was only a 100km not a 100 miler.
And no other 100 miler in Australia in October at the moment.

Glasshouse has never been an AURA event correct.
But I think if you look back at the AURA newsletters you will see the Grandslam mentioned.
Certainly photos of the people who completed it in the 2 years I am talking about.

Glasshouse events are now on the AURA calendar. Glassman has sorted out his differences with AURA.

Hey Andrew, the thread you were referred to has it all. There is one guy that did it both 2009 and 2010, and that is Brick , too modest to say so here, plus three other in both years. The races and times are listed and subsequent posts detail why it couldn't happen in 2011.

I am sure you you would prefer if your readers also went back through your blog posts rather than ignored them. And....., they wanted that thread to reach 100 pages in 2016, so you may want to help that out instead.Posted Image

Thanks Colin, I will contribute to that, have already voted :) I just wasn't sure if that was an idea to have a new Grandslam for Aussie and replace an exsisting one, one reason I made this thread :D

Not quite, Horrie.  Just on the calendar Horrie, no points.  You'll notice Cook's tour isn't on the calendar.

I like to highlight It was not AURA who organized the Grand slam. Aura supported it and so did all the race directors of four full Monties.

As The 100miler was not featured in last years GOW, there isn't a 'third' miler to constitute a full four milers within 16 weeks!
There is possibly a miler featured in Oct this year and thus the "organizer" will soon announce a full line up for 2012 grand slam and open up to anyone whose keen to attempt.
