Hi,
My first post on Cool Running Australia - yay!
I am trying to find a retailer that stocks Altra shoes. I tried the Altra Instinct at a booth during Running Fit expo prior to Run Melbourne, but didn't get a proper feel as I was rushing to be near the stage for the pasta party (and the experts forum, of-course).
I want to give the shoes a try and I can't find a retailer that stocks them. I've been to Pinnacle Outdoors and Bogong in the Melbourne CBD as listed on the distributor's website. However, it turns out that the distributor distributes many products and anyone getting anything from them shows up in the search results.
Does anyone know of retailers in and around Melbourne that stock Altra shoes?
Cheers,
Neeraj

Not sure of retailers but if you contact the Australian distributors Injinji Performance Products, I am sure they will be able to tell you: http://injinjiper.ca...altra-footwear/

I got a pair of Altra shoes from Footpro in Malvern. The guys there were great, no pressure and carried a lot of different brands. I went down to try the Hoka One One Bondi B's and was pretty sure I was going to be leaving the store with a pair on my feet.
But they didnt feel right, a bit tight across the forefoot. Then tried the Stinsons and they were right in the forefoot but narrower in the toe box.
Shoe guy, Tom then suggested the Altra, I really like the wide forefoot and they felt great. Went out and ran Melbourne marathon in them the next day.
I have been running in Mizuno wave rider and VFF for the last few years and the Altra seem to be a nice mix of both.

I second Footpro-the boys are excellent. I bought Altras at the run Melbourne expo and haven't run in them alot as yet but used them as an everyday shoe for a bit and loved them. I have a few little niggles running in them but I suspect that's just me getting used to a minimalist shoe (I normally run in Hokas). Can't argue with the price if ghe Altras either!

There were a couple of runners wearing Altra Lone Peaks at the GOW100s last weekend (the race was also supported by Injinji Aus who distribute them and winners each received a pair). A very muddy and sandy trail and the runners told me they were very happy with the performance of their Altras.
