Hi Coolrunners,
Does anyone know the footpath situation on Epping Rd. I want to run from West Pennent Hills to St Leonards one morning early next week before work.
I know its about 24klms but not sure on footpath after the Old Channel 10 building just after you pass Delhi rd and the Tennis courts on Epping rd?
Any help would be appreciated
cheers
Kilometere distance??

There is no footpath on the left hand side of the road as you head towards the city past Dehli road. On the other side form Pittwater road down to the river is a construction site for the Lane Cove Tunnel. As far as I am aware you can still access this section as a person from the general public. I believe this is part of the conditions of building this section of the road. I work on this project but havent been on that particular site for a couple of weeks. I am 80% sure that it is accessable to the public and you can go down there if you stay out of way.
If not I will loan you my hard hat while you run through. :D

I'd suggest, to be safe, that you turn into Pittwater Rd from Epping Rd, turn left at Magadala Rd (at the RSL) and run down the hill and across the GNW pedestrian bridge. This will bypass most of the heavy works and there is a marked path then up to the Shell garage on Epping Rd through the construction zone.

Beyond the shell garage, the foot paths are patchy or non-existent from memory. There's also a path on the south side of the road that is slow and tortuous for a while.
I'd steer clear of epping road as much as possible because of the noise and traffic.
