Thank you so much too all the people who posted an encouraging statement in my last blog entry, its amazing how much difference it makes. I had some Melbourne friends cheer me on at the 13 K mark and that really had an impact. And the biggest thrill was to run alongside CRs. There was so much camraderie out there on the road. Starting off with Fifa, Sol,...
Colsy's Half Hour
Christ on a bike readers! I am doing a bloody Half marathon on Sunday! What tha hell is that all about? Who organised that? Whose crazy idea was it!
It just dawned on me this morning, the gravity of the whole thing. Somewhere over the last 9 months I did some training that took me from a guy who couldnt run more than 1 K to a guy who is about...

Yeah, growing like a fungus, thats our CR group these days. Some might say it's mushrooming but fungus sounds more mysterious....and silly.
Anyhow, its been an interesting month as usual. Thats the great thing about being a newb to running, every day, week, month yields a whole heap of new information for my 'Mickey Mouse Watch' brain to...

It's been a strange period, the last few weeks. I think I am still recovering from my food and wine festival month. I think it may stem from the fact that it was only 9 months ago that I had skyhigh cholesterol levels. I got them right down but I think the month of June may have brought those levels back. My legs have had a lot of little twinge pains...
I had go to Sydney again this week, this time with others of my ilk from the same company. We call ourselves the Rat Pack. We had to endure two days of pure Brain Drain with not a lot of activity in between. There was no time for running...but, of course, there was a lot of time for eating and drinking. I over-indulged massively.
It was the return of the...

A great week this week ending with the Adealide CRs Hill Climb yesterday. What great day it was. Everybody showed! Was also great to meet one of our newest members, FitnHealthy. Hopefully we havent scared her off from any future events. We got up the ole Mount in about an hour, regrouped and then some of us ran back down. I was one of the loonies that...
Running
Not a lot in the world of running this week. In fact, I was unable to do my long run on Sunday. I planned a huge run all the way around the airport over to the River Frankens and back home. 'Twas about 14 KMS. I was really excited about it. However, when Sunday morning came around, it wasn't to be.

I set out to the Barossa with the intention of getting a new PB for my 5 K. My previous one was 26:37 at Carisbrooke. I was thinking positively about it. My aim was to get it under 25 and the associated barrier of sub 5min/kms.
I read on somewhere that Roger Bannister didnt run for a week before his 4 minute mile record breaker. That was my inspiration for...

We are lucky arent we? Today I did my first 12 K run and it dawned on me how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful area. I know I moan about Adelaide and I still do believe it is a bit boring and old fashioned but I can not deny that it is a truly beautiful place to live.
My run today took me along the beach to Glenelg (as a lot of my runs do) but then I...

Another week, another race. This week was the Mothers day Classic and all up it was a pretty good day. As usual I spent a few moments knocking around with the usual suspects from CR before the start. I think I ran it well in general although I probably could have upped my pace a little earlier. I am constantly in fear of peaking too early and collapsing...
