A couple of easy runs, and QR XC 5k

Rounded out the working week with a gentle 7k or so cruise around the UQ trail - still felt a little heavy in the legs, pace was around 4:50 or so.  Felt better afterwards, and it was a pleasant afternoon for a run.

My cycling partner is in NZ skiing this weekend, so I took the opportunity to sleep in.  I was planning on catching up with some running...

4 x 1k on Heavy Legs

Mid to late afternoon, pulled up to my usual starting point in St Lucia for training on the UQ trail feeling a bit weary after a longish drive from work, so grabbed a quick 10 minute nap before heading off on my warm up.

I had initially planned 5 x 1.1k.  Legs felt pretty heavy through the warm up, eventually running out the 3.5k or so at about 4:42 pace. ...

Back to work, and last thoughts on the GC Half

Felt pretty decent on Tuesday - seemed to have pulled up fairly well from the half.

Had to train from home on Tuesday afternoon as dumb-dumb here managed to bring to Nike Frees with him to train with...from differing pairs, which would have been okay as they're the same shoe, in different colours...except they were both right shoes.  Briefly considered...

Monday - Brisbane Running Festival launch, shortish tempo

Didn't pull up too badly from Sunday's race - a little niggle at the top of the left ITB, and weirdly, pain in the left shoulder.  Probably tensed up over the last ten in the race fighting it out.

End of the working week

Thursday - I was literally still working out what I was going to do after my warm up for this session.  Ended up doing 5 x 1.1km or so, which pacewise went 3:51, 3:48, 3:48, 3:43 and 3:36.  Didn't really push until the last rep, just worked on being nice and tall and consistent with my stride and action.

Mid week update - June 18-20

Gently winding off the miles ahead of the Gold Coast Half Marathon in a week and a half's time.

I'm on a training course for work out of Rocklea this week which means a later start and finishing a bit later.  It's a little fiddly but you know what runners are like with routine.

I was fairly beaten up on Monday after the 36, and a bit niggly at...
