Getting into the back half of a big week

Tues 6 x 400, Wed longer tempo (that was probably a bit too long)

Tuesday was pretty straightforward - warm up, 6 x 400, cool down, go home. Except I forgot my running shoes, so I had to scoot home, get them, and then back to the usual spot for the session.

Warm up was a little stiff to start but settled down quickly and I got through a bit over 3.8k in 4:28 pace, feeling a lot smoother over the last km or so.

Thursday - long repeat day. Late morning I was still carrying a bit from the previous two days, but had a rough plan of 4 to 5 1k (well, 1.1 or so) repeats with a 2 minute break. Speed and tempo

After being 'trapped' at home most of the day with tradies working on the kitchen, I finally got out the door a after four and headed over to UQ for my 400m repeat session. The plan was to run 6, with the first two just setting up rhythm and form, working into it with the next two, and then pushing hard for the last two. I also took the rest out...

End of the month, and back to the training structure

Last training session for the month. I've on leave at the moment (got the tap on the shoulder about having too much leave outstanding!) so we're getting the kitchen, which the house was full of tradies this morning.

Sinuses and the week in review

With the sudden drop in temperatures and disappearance of humidity, my sinuses flared up on Thursday afternoon, so that in combination with forgetting my running shoes saw me dribble around the local neighbourhood for what I'd consider my absolute bare minimum run of 3.14k in a touch under 5 minutes per k pace. Felt pretty rubbish the whole way.
