It ticks a fair few of the boxes that I 'don't do' - heat, humid, laps, bugs, long distance.....but, it's something I have been aiming towards all year and I'm really excited (and nervous) about. Training is on track - well, aside from missing 2, HM's a couple of months ago due to shingles. They were a pretty big part of training, but can't change things now. Shingles are gone and that's the main thing! I have negsplit to keep me on track up until Jan 7th, and during the night, so that's a huge help, now I just have to keep the feet going - in Hokas of course. They are keeping my back and hips relatively happy with all the running I'm putting them through, so I will definitely keep wearing them. I must admit, the distance/time thing is so far removed from my running ventures so far, that it's a big unknown how it will go, but I won't know if I don't try and I do recall a similar thought and feeling before Vanuatu.....and now look where I am!
The next few weeks are going to be jam packed with running, planning, end of school year, Christmas, work........but I'll get there.
