Here i sit, arm in a sling, near constant pain and feeling just a bit sorry for myself. I should have known that the surgeon would find a bit more wrong when i had shoulder surgery just over a week ago. It turn out i had a partial thickness tear in the rotator cuff tendon that needed fixing. So instead of a reasonably quick couple of weeks recovery, its 6 weeks in the sling and a very slow careful recovery.
On the positive side, this will now force me to take a very careful, measured return to fitness and running. I know how many beginner mistakes i made when i first started, so this time i can do it better.
