Hi Everyone,
Firstly thanks for your kind words and thoughts regarding me over the past week! Very much appreciated.
Well i've completed week #1 and to be honest other than a few moments where i was totally despondent i managed to survive..
Last week from a non-impact point of view. I did the following:
Wed: 1.0 km swim (25 mins)
Thu: 1.5 km swim (30 mins)
It's bizarre though, but i do feel my fitness slipping away..??? Perhaps it's my mind?? Not sure.
I'm faring ok otherwise... totally frustrated about not being able to run.. like today's example, my work mates have headed out the door and I'm not with them... now that makes me sad :-(
On a positive though... my body is feeling 'slightly' better.. i think.. On the weekend though there was a number of times whereby my right ankle was killing me, forcing me enough to take pain killers to subdue the pain.... it was like a knife was inserted into my ankle :-( Not a nice feeling.
The plan this week is to continue my swimming...
More exciting news though is that i've rung my podiatrist and i've received permissing to use the cross-trainer!!! :-) I'll be taking it easy of course.. My wife purchased one last Friday .. and i managed to put it together on Sunday.. The thing is fantastic!!! No stres on my ankle or the ball of my feet...
Managed to get my HR up and maintain some aerobic fitness!!! Whooaa! I'll do 30-45 mins tonight and see how i feel!
Cheers everyone.
bennie!

It will take some getting back no matter what swimming/cycling you do. Well, it did for me aven though I was doing lots of cycling and thought I was race fit but was merely heart-fit.
Well done. The time carries on. Bugger about the mates going out though.
