My current 10k PB is 37:38, 5K PB is 17:52 and I only came in with a time of 18:08 for a recent 5K race although it was windy conditions and my preparation could have been better (deep tissue massage the day before the race).
I have just had a couple of days rest after a really bad long run and now feeling much better for it although I am typing this after only completing an easy run yesterday and before I do a hard session today but so far so good and I think I will be fine.
Guess I am posting this as I want to remind myself of the challenge, get some good training completed, get to the start line fit and give it my best. I believe I can run a 17:20 5K given the right conditions so guess that means I should be realistically looking at a sub 36:00 10k but we will see.
Individual goals are exciting!
