Big improvement in Harriers run last night; and lung function not too bad

At last, a good run at the 6km Independent Way, it just felt good, it seemed like lots of downhill and not so much uphill; which means the smaller rises didn't bother me at all.  Even on the steepish uphill I didn't get busted back to a crawl.  So I did 6km in 34:12 which is pace= 5.43 and average speed 10.5 km/hr.

Compared with the 6 km last week...

Good day out with Harriers on Sunday; mixed results at home TRH ran our annual run on the Boolarra-Mirboo North Rail Trail, with 2 distances of 25km and 10km.  I have previously enjoyed the 25 km run, last year I did it at a pace of 6.30, av speed 9.0 km/hr.  I missed it in 2011 due to surgery and did it in 2010 probably a bit faster.  This year I am not doing so well, so I did the 10km for the first time.

TRH Springwood 4km run goes well; a good week

Well today we had the Harriers Springwood run near the Golf course in Crinigan Rd Morwell, so a good hilly spot.  Lovely cool running conditions.  I ran the 4km in 26 mins which was 2 minutes slower than last year, but last year I was a bit fitter.  So a nice result.  The men run 2 laps, ie 8 km and Trevor did well in 42 mins.  The winner was an eye...

I have been running so inconsistently that there has been nothing to report.  Hopefully that is now remedied and I'll be getting back to regular running.  Today I ran 9.9 km in 1:27, yesterday 8.76 km in 1:20.  Tomorrow is the Club's Anzac Day run.

Last week I ran 16.68 km bringing YTD = 285.9kms.  Only way to go is up.

Slow start to year, at least ran 5 times last week It seems to be taking a long time to get 2013 organised, thus road trips etc have stopped me doing consistent running.  Last week I ran 5 times, total 22.7 kms, YTD = 245.3 kms. Same time last year I had done 334kms, and in 2011 398 kms, that's a problem.

Hopefully in what is left of this week I can do a few runs and gym sessions.  Tomorrow is not...

At last - a run that went better than expected, lovely cold conditions Our Club run on Thursday was at Newborough track, a chance to see what your exact 5km time is and nowhere to hide.  I had zero expectations as I have run so little in the last 4 weeks.  All I have been doing regularly is my weights sessions at the gym with a little work on the stepper or treadmill.  So to do the 5 km in 28:38 was actually good, as was the...
