Good 10 km at Flemington makes looking forward more interesting

Posted by antracing , 30 May 2012 - - - - - - · 60 views

Having a good run like last Saturdays makes looking at the upcoming run calendar more interesting and the Walhalla Woundup 50km a vague possibility if all keeps going well.  There is the Traralgon half marathon this Sunday, the Burnley half marathon on 2nd September and if I was to do Walhalla my calculations say I should aim for a massive week about 6...

Lovely PB at AV Flemington Big V 10 km

Posted by antracing , 27 May 2012 - - - - - - · 228 views

Yesterday my partner and I ventured out of the rainsodden Gippsland to the slightly finer Melbourne Cup venue, where AV was running what they bill as the fastest 10km race in the State.  We had a 3 lap 10km course around the parking zones of Flemington, so all "off road" but on good quality road surfaces.  Reasonably flat, with one steepish...

Fantastic 21.1 km run, shame the event was 25 km

Posted by antracing , 17 May 2012 - - - - - - · 159 views

Following my welcome return to the 26 minute zone for 5km on Thursday night at Stockdale Rd run, I was off to the 25 km rail trail run on Sunday which goes from Boolarra to Mirboo North and back.  The rail trail has been repaired since the big fires of 2009 with 2 magnificent steel bridges replacing the old wood ones that burnt down.   My partner did the 10...

5 km in 26 min 21 secs, best for ages

Posted by antracing , 10 May 2012 - - - - - - · 275 views

Just back from Harriers run, Stockdale Rd, 5.03 km.  Broke through the 27 min barrier that has held me for over a month now.  Run felt great despite sore right calf.  On Tuesday I bogged the 4 wheeler while getting the cows at Tap Tap, and I think doing the rest of the job in boggy going in heavy safety cap gumboots strained the calf a bit.  Hopefully it...

PB on 4km AV xc run; slowish Thursday 6km run

Posted by antracing , 05 May 2012 - - - - - - · 83 views

PB on 4km AV xc run; slowish Thursday 6km run Today was the second AV winter series run, 4 km for women and 8 km for men at Balnarring (near Hastings).  As is often the case it was warm and sunny at Willung South but cold and grey elsewhere, but we didn't actually get rained on while running (at 2 pm).

Basically the 4 km loop was a lap of the Balnarring racecourse with an interesting added...

Longest run for quite a while, Sunday lyrebirds

Posted by antracing , 01 May 2012 - - - - - - · 86 views

I just got back from a 18.54 km run (time 2 hrs 23 mins P= 7.44,S = 7.8) which is the longest run so far on the comeback trail.  Went up to old scenic lookout via Campbells Rd/pines then home via Carrajung Buttners Saddle rd, so a fair bit of uphill followed by 7 km all downhill.

Didn't run on Sunday but went up to Bulga Park and checked out part of...
