My cold with its associated sore throat, blocked ears, nose and lungs etc has lifted, so much that I did a nice 15 km run in a bit under 2 hrs yesterday (up to old scenic lookout and back). Then before the Harriers run this afternoon I did a Curves gym session. They have a sort of points system to rate workouts and today I was back in the 500's for the 1st time in 18 months (used to be high 500's/ low 600's before last years decline). Most of this year I have been low to mid 400's. Late last year 300's. The good thing about the better rating , 528, was it felt good, not a struggle, didn't feel wrecked for the run.
The run was 6km around Flinders School, has a pretty big hill which we do twice as its 2 laps. Last time we ran here on 1st March I was rapt to break 36 mins (35mins 53 sec). This time I did it in 33mins 22 secs, so the improvement continues (Pace= 5.36, Speed = 10.7). If I had run same average as last week would have been more like 32 mins but the hill does slow things down a bit. Got a bit of a blister on left heel from the Altra Intuitions (!!!), may need some chafe cream or blister sticker for the 6.2 km AV run on Saturday at Jells Park in Melbourne. I am running in the mens team (over 40's as they are short whereas the women have exact numbers) for the Harriers. I beat 1 of my team mates tonight so won't be too out of place.
Spent a fair bit of time this morning practising the spreadsheets for Treaurers Duty, did the receipts and expenditures for last 3 months, now need to get the bank statements to do reports and reconciliations. Keeping them and doing them on Google docs, only hassle is it converts dates to the yankee mm/dd/yy format, bugger. But if my laptop crashes should be still OK. And on Monday 7th June Jack is coming round to show me how to be webmaster and use Joomla system , oh boy, that will be a challenge, but should keep the brain cells ticking over.
