We ran the 6 km St Pauls School run last night, 2 laps with a good steep downhill and a corresponding but longer flatter uphill. I ran well and did the 6.24 km in 32:17, Pace= 5.10 and av speed = 11.6 which is actually better than my recent 5 km pace of 5.14 to 5.43. Edging closer to a 25 min 5km. It helps to be pushed on these runs and 1 other runner and I swapped places about 6 times during the run and then Flirty Bob raced up near the finish to make me run hard to beat him over the line.
We then had a marathon organising committee meeting to tie up loose ends before it all happens on Sunday. They seem to have everything covered, I have a big pumpkin on hand to make a pot of soup and then all I have to do is organise myself to run 21.1 km as hard as I can. John pushed me all the way on the Boolarra rail trail run and is also doing the half marathon so that should keep me honest. Want to go for an easy run after writing this and before heading off to Tap Tap to milk, banking some marathon entry money in Yarram on the way. Thank heavens for online entry, there are only a handful of people sending in hard copy entries. Mostly our members who can hand them in personally.
