Floods and water everywhere

Floods and water everywhere Gippsland is awash!  It was lucky we got the marathon day in before this lot dumped on us. Went into Traralgon today, the creek is huge and spread out for miles, about 65 houses inundated, the Coles underground carpark was full to the top of the entrance door with brown water.

On the way to Tap Tap to milk this arvo I had to drive trhough about a kilometre of water about a foot deep, washing across from flooded paddocks (not rivers or this might have been dangerous).  What a good vehicle the Isuzu Rodeo is, no problems at all.  Going really well at 362,000 km thanks to Trevor the wonder mechanic.  The Tap Tap plain is full of water, the second flood in 10 days.  Even Johnsons farm at Carrajung Lower had 180 ml yesterday and water everywhere.

Tomorrow is the transit of Venus, I hope we get clear skies and I intend to go to Traralgon where the astronomical society is setting up telescopes for us to look through.  Worth a trip to town, after all Captain Cook sailed all the way to Tahiti to get a look.

I hardly had time to scratch today so squeezed in a short run before doing to the arvo milking.  4.39km in 33:29. pace=7.37; speed=7.9; on the hills above the house through the pines, heaps of water here pouring down the ditches.  A stride of 204.4m; 52 secs; pace=4.18;speed= 13.9.  No stiffness from the run on Sunday.  Did a Curves gym session, felt great and clocked a great score of 641, way up from my usual mid 400's.
