Great 15km run at AV Ballarat 1:23; has my Garmin met its end ! Yesterday we got on our minibus and went to the AV 15km Road Championships in Ballarat, the home of Steve Monaghetti.  I felt good, started in the early group for runners taking more than 80 mins and had a lovely run, quite a busy start as we started with the under 20's doing their 5km event, but then it spread out and I had a nice position , I was not overtaken by anyone from my group once we were over 4km and the fast runners didn't start passing me until 12.22 km.  Weather was cold but fine and only a breeze, nice running conditions.  We did 2 full laps of Lake Wendouree plus a bit more to get the extra 3km to make it 15km.

The run felt so good and I spent a lot of time in the 12 km per hour zone and very lttle under 10.  Pace = 5.35, av speed 10.9 km per hour.  The other good thing was I barely slowed down over the run and felt strong all the way through.  Altras lovely as usual.

Just back from a 8.2 km run up the hill in the pines, 1 hr 12 mins, pace= 8.47, no niggles or pains, felt good.

Total for week = 51.87 km, YTD = 680.64

I didn't use my Garmin on the run as it was still charging from yesterday.  But when I picked it up off its cradle it went dead.  YIKES!!  Surely my little mate hasn't karked it.  Will fiddle around but if worst comes to worst I may be up for a new one.
