Partner trying out his new Altras, 9.6 km run and my Garmin is OK

After 23 km in 2 days I was thinking of skipping today, but because its a holiday here in Vic, Trev has the day off so wanted to try out his new Altras.  We did the big block around HylandHwy- Woodside rd- McNees rd past the Toms Cap winery-Lays rd- Hyland Hwy, 9.6km; 1:06.  A good time for me considering I am still recovering from doing 15km as fast as my legs would carry me on Saturday, but pretty slow for Trev as he usually does it well under an hour.  Its got some good hills, including a long pull up Lays Rd to the highway.

Trev liked his Altras and they suit his forefoot strike style well.  My Garmin was examined very carefully yesterday and I noticed a build up of black gunk round the contacts on the charge cradle, picked this off and she lives again, thank heavens.

This week has a 6km Thursday run with the Harriers and their XC championships on Sunday in Moe, 8km for women.  So plenty of good running coming up.  Also I am starting to feel the urge to do the lovely 23km loop in the Mullungdung.  I'm just about fit enough to be able to enjoy it.  It has a good mix of hills and all weather hard sandy tracks.  And the flora and fauna are great.
