Flirty Bob must have been looking up his results and noticed that I am currently 6th on the Athletics Victoria XCR 2012 Individual Champion Athlete Women 55 +. I didn't even know the ladders existed. Only 2 other of our Harriers are on these lists, Corney and Twitey. So its good to be in such nice company. Now I have more incentive to run my best at Brimbank, Bundoora and Burnley. No idea how the points are worked out, no need to know, just run!
Individual placings are good as we are pretty low in Division 1 womens, a height we only achieved historically because of Katherine's great ability and she is too busy gadding about the world in other events to be here this year.
The Garmin stuffed up again tonight. Well I warned it! Ordered a lovely new one on Ebay tonight, it pushed me too far in stuffing up on tonight's run.
6 km The Avenue , ran all the way with Flirty Bob (ooh better watch out there) who is getting better quickly as he's gone from 1 run a week to about 3 or 4 now he's doing AV as well. Consequently he's a bushranger as far as handicap goes, hopefully he'll be nabbed after tonight and put on the same level as I am, not 1 minute lower.
But not to worry, he's not female so no threat to what I hope is my good position on the Winter Championship points table. I well beat the other females most likely to threaten. Unless a really fast newbie is doing well (rather than the one's down at my sort of level). Time will tell. Poor Trev was stuck at a job in Leongatha, so missed the run, the 1st he's missed for many months. He is doing so much overtime it is probably amazing he gets to so many runs.
Now I can stop skiting and get back to the real good stuff - running.
