A good week for running, I did the 24 km block in the Mullungdung on Monday and Saturday, 1st time anticlockwise, 2nd time clockwise and the times were less than one minute different (3:08:35 and 3:09:15) - amazing. I usually do it anticlockwise because of the steep hill up Little Tower when you do it clockwise. But yesterday even after 19 kms it looked a lot less formidable and I ran all the way up quite easily (I have always walked at least part of this hill in the past).
So the pace on these runs averaged 7.5 and the speed averaged 7.6 km per hour. On 'my asics' I recorded the pace as "comfortable" and it really was.
I did OK at the Harriers run on Thursday night too : 5.41 km in 28:46, pace=5.19; speed = 11.3 km per hour.
Total kms for week = 71.91kms, YTD = 836.73 (exactly 6 months). This is great as last year I really struggled to post the 1000 kms for the whole year.
Today I cross trained by doing the local cycling group's 60 km ride on basically a slightly longer version of the Traralgon marathon course. Vance as usual asked me to lead the ride, so there was no quiet loafing midfield, I had to go hard all day to justify being in front of many better cyclists. But it is fun and the muscles that were getting a bit sore from running are now free and happy and the legs still got a workout. And they put on lovely cakes and slices and cuppas at lunchtime.
Time for bed, all tired now.
