5th in age group Bundoora The 8km run at Bundoora was in nice sunny weather and on damp, sometimes muddy grass.  The grass was quite hard to run fast on as it sort of absorbed the energy out of the legs.  But my time wasn't bad 8.16 km in 47:33, pace = 5.49; av speed = 10.3 km per hr, max speed = 16.5 (there was one good downhill which we did twice as it was 2 4km laps).  The night before this run I couldn't relax or sleep so I got out on the trails at midnight with my light  and ran 5km.  Nutty I know, but I did sleep OK afterwards.

Just about all of the Harriers at AV had or are getting over the cold that is going around at the moment.  I finished behind one of the over 55 women who I beat at Brimbank, who knows if it was the cold that slowed me down, or I just had a good day at Brimbank.  I probably have 6th place on the individual ladder sewn up.  One more run : Burnley half marathon on 2nd September.  The other AV runs to come are both relays (Geelong and the Tan).

So for the week : 63.16 kms, YTD = 950.15 kms.  So it may be next week when I make it to 1000 km for the year.

This week is supposed to be the Big Week in my preparation for Walhalla.  I don't want to say too much in case I mozz my chances of achieving the goal.

Partners parents are still in hospital and still could go either way as far as recovery goes.
