1000 kilometres up for 2012

Posted by vat , in Run, Training 21 April 2012 · 240 views

This afternoon's activities at the Queensland Running Cross Country races at Toowong's Anzac Park saw my total kilometres for this year pass 1,000, at an average of 4:38 per kilometre.  I'll go into more detail about the event tomorrow in my weekly summary.

A fairly arbitrary milestone, but indicative of progress so far.  I am chasing down an average of 70km a week (or 10km a day), of which I am a bit over 100km behind but catching fairly quickly.  It's not a specific or actively chased target, more an incidental milestone, one that should be passed in training as a matter of course.

4:38/k is very good going for 1000km.  I know that I would be nowhere near that.
