With the sudden drop in temperatures and disappearance of humidity, my sinuses flared up on Thursday afternoon, so that in combination with forgetting my running shoes saw me dribble around the local neighbourhood for what I'd consider my absolute bare minimum run of 3.14k in a touch under 5 minutes per k pace. Felt pretty rubbish the whole way.
Felt much the same on Friday and forced myself out in the afternoon for 5.75k, although the pace was better this time, back at about 4:35.
With the rain and not feeling great, I bailed on cross country and instead ran a bit over 10k in the afternoon. It chucked it down the whole way (my reward for waiting), but the pace was back to where it should be, in the low 4:30s.
I had slotted in 30km+ for Sunday but wasn't feeling particularly flash. Ended up droning around for a little under 23k in a touch over 4:40 pace, bailed more out of a lack of interest than anything. I am finding the mental side of the long runs a bit challenging.
Still, 90km+ for the week, and it'll end up being over 350km for the month. Would have been nice to be a little more, but suspect I might have pushed a little too hard earlier in the month.
