Winding down into the BRRC 35k on Sunday (June 10), which I'm treating as a full race rehearsal.
Thu - good warm up and cool down bookended three solid 1.1k repeats, done at 3:42, 3:39 and 3:34 pace. Didn't push hard, just nice even technique (on the forefoot) working to be a little faster through each rep.
Fri - was going to run at UQ, forgot my shoes, so headed home and droned around for 5.7k in 4:47 pace. Just a gentle recovery cruise
Sat - headed out from home at lunchtime for a relaxed 5.15 in 4:46 pace. Felt pretty good - ran in a pair of Nike Lunarspyder R2's I didn't much care for on their first trot out a week ago, plus they cut me, but a reorg of the laces and some tape saw that fixed and the shoes felt better as I got further into the run
So, easy two weeks, a bit of a carb load and we're set for the first true indicative milestone of this marathon campaign.
