Mid to late afternoon, pulled up to my usual starting point in St Lucia for training on the UQ trail feeling a bit weary after a longish drive from work, so grabbed a quick 10 minute nap before heading off on my warm up.
I had initially planned 5 x 1.1k. Legs felt pretty heavy through the warm up, eventually running out the 3.5k or so at about 4:42 pace. Felt like hard work, though.
Decided to not worry about pace so much and just work on form, good consistent pace and staying strong. Put out 4 reps of between 3:45 and 3:50 pace, and the last felt pretty hard, so I wrapped it up there.
Ran the cool down at 4:41 pace, and it felt a bit of a battle at the end.
Guess the usual recovery from the Wednesday tempo's been slowed by the HM still being in the legs from the weekend. No biggie - easy half hour tomorrow (will try to get out in the morning, but the cold's making it difficult), and hopefully out on the bike Saturday morning with cross country in the afternoon, with a steady 36k on Sunday to finish the second last heavy week ahead of Brisbane.
