So I woke up this morning after a sleep in (even though I stirred at 0430 which is when I wake up for a run)at 0600 and felt great. Legs felt good and no niggles to complain of. Maybe I've had the whole marathon training caper wrong. Maybe I should do a few spur of the moment ones in the future (thanks Eagle lol) - at least it minimises any injuries....
I've been thinking about the course and as long as I can make it to the top of HTFU hill (Redfern st) the second time without having stopped (about 32km), I should be ok. Coincidently, Redfern st actually is less steep than the 25 and 30km turn arounds - they are a killer.
Purchased my Gels as well. Added bonus of going on holidays next week so tomorrow is my last day at work - can't wait.
One of my work colleagues posted this on facebook - - are most runners like this? I see many elements of myself in this....
