Looking for a change from the usual running venues I went for a run at Yarra Flats this morning. I wrote about this place on my earlier book " Running in Australia" and I had not been there for a couple of years. I was interested to see if anything had changed. As I ran along the muddy tracks I was thankful the path was not actually under water, although in one place the track was closed due to storm damage. But nothing had changed, including the hole in the fence you have to get through half way along the route.
I was surprised to see that The Boulevard in Ivanhoe had received no maintenance since I last drove it when going for a run here. The potholes are the worst I have seen in Melbourne if not in the Southern Hemisphere, excepting the round-island road in Vanuatu.
