Suncorp Bank Sydney Harbour 10k

May 19 2012 10:14 AM | Wayne Larden in Frontpage

Hi All CR's - I couldn't work out how to start a new event so I've put this here. We have today launched our brand new event, the Suncorp Bank Sydney Harbour 10k. It will be held on Sunday 8 July starting and finishing at The Rocks, Sydney. It is going to be a certified accurate (AIMS) super fast 10k in and around The Rocks, Darling Harbour, Pyrmont and Barangaroo. It is a beautiful course and is perfectly timed four weeks out from city to surf.

We have a tight restriction on entry numbers in year one with only 5,000 available - so I'd get in quickly.

Check out the website at - www.sydneyharbour10k.com.au

In the meantime I'll try and work out how to start a new event.

Many thanks
Wayne

Cyber Bully

Apr 19 2011 09:59 AM | buzzlightyear in Frontpage

CoolRunning is a Forum for Runners and newbies alike to come together to share knowledge, gears,  pre/post races thoughts and running in General. While a little bit of bantering or "friendly Rivalry" can be good fun and often in good humor, instances of cyberbullying has often come across my mind.

While I fortunately have not been on the receiving end of the treatment, I have other CR who unfortunately been treated with great due of dis-respecting, twisting and turning every bits of their words. (AND certainly, I have had that reported to the Admin)

So where do we draw the line between what we post online? Is it ok that we stand behind our Avatar and stand to bombard another because we can? And there are no consequences? What role does Admin do? And what do they stand in Coolrunning "Consitution" of a form of "bully" against "another" ??

I am keen to hear from both the Administrator and other CRs.

What Is A Frontpage?

Mar 17 2010 09:00 AM | Jogger in Frontpage

IP.Content 2.0 uses the term "frontpage" to refer to both the homepage of the Articles module, and the landing page of each individual category.  We have introduced this new navigational structure to better allow you to showcase content, while presenting it in a standardized format that your users will be able to understand and jump into without assistance.

Firstly, you will now be able to define "frontpage" templates in the ACP for the Articles module.  IP.Content 2.0 will ship with 3 defaults:

  • 1x2x2 Layout
This layout will display articles in a traditional "news" style layout.
  • Blog format
This format will display articles in a blog-style format.
  • Single column
This layout will force articles to display in a single column, one per row.

You can use one or more of these frontpage layouts, or you can create your own.  Experiment with displaying articles in different formats on your homepage to determine which layout your users like best.

Articles must be set to "Show on front page" in order for them to display on the homepage frontpage.

In addition to the homepage frontpage, each category has it's own frontpage.  The category frontpage functions identically to the homepage frontpage, except for two important factors:

  • Only records from within that category (and it's subcategories) will be displayed
  • The "Show on front page" setting is not honored for the category frontpage

You will be able to easily review and manage the articles set to display on the frontpage from a new section of the ACP labeled "Frontpage Manager".  We feel that this new area of the articles section will help showcase important articles and increase user interaction with your articles section.
