Every day life for a Dalit child is a Marathon!

There are more children in India than any other country in the world. Every day many of them live in acute danger of being trafficked, maimed, or sold into slavery.

Many of the children have parents who are bonded labourers.

You can walk your own marathon and change this by making an investment in their freedom and their future.

Without your help, most cannot stay in school or escape the poverty that puts them at risk for commercial sexual exploitation, forced labour, or bonded labour.

9th August 2012 - What a fantastic day we had. The new format of 42ks Marathon was a great hit with the walkers/runners. We had 219 walkers registered for the walk. That was 31 more walkers than last year's number. It was a perfect sunny day in Brisbane after a very cold and frosty start. Runners, walkers and bike-riders started out fresh and excited - we even had a cart being pulled by enthusiastic parents, giving their children an opportunity to be involved!
We got a lot of positive feedback on the day. Many of the comments were - "what a fantastic track and variation of scenery" - "the walk was brilliant" – "the care and attention at the pit stops and way finders was fantastic" - "the contrast between the Boondall Wetland and then walking along the beach was beautiful" - "we'll be back next year" - "very well organised event" etc.

Although promoted as a family event, more runners are being attracted now - Paul Vandersee ran the track in a brilliant time of 3hrs 21 mins. Well done! We hope to see many more runners next year to give him a bit of competition.
Thanks to every one who made it a great day and a great fundraiser for the Dalit kids!

Almost $148,000 raised in 2012 event. THANK YOU! 100% sent to rescue India's Dalit children through Bridge of Hope centres.
60,000 children rescued so far - help us to rescue thousands more!
