Hey guys

I've had a bit of a look to see if this idea has been previously floated but didn't see it... or just didn't look properly!

I kind of like the idea of having a CR Hoodie or Hooded Zip up jumper... I guess the only thing I can think of to give you all an idea is those year 12/Leavers jumpers that schools always seem to do nowadays.

It wouldnt have a training application but during winter I wear a jumper of some sort to and from races so why not make it a CR jumper?

Edit: To add a poll!

I like the idea Stella - am sitting here in my GCM one from the weekend.

BUT

please don't make it yellow or the bright blue -

black/navy with the CR logo would be good.

At drinks on Sunday arvo this very idea came up; we were looking at the PCRG one that Tesso was modeling.

Zip front rather than pullover type. Medium blue (navy would be a bit too dark) with the logo across the back and a smaller one on left side of the chest.

Snap. I couldn't have said it better myself Brewer. Tesso and the PCRG gang looked fantastic in their hoodies and I would buy one in that style in a heartbeat.

Also - I meant to vote middle blue on the poll but the radio button changed to black. Can an admin adjust that for me?

I went looking on CR ages ago to see if we had these 'cos I wanted to buy one, so I think it's a great idea.

Has anyone got a photo of the PCRG hoodies?

Great idea Stella
Is the middle blue like what the word 'cool' is written in for the logo (like at the top of the page)?
That would look great.

Fantastic idea!  I would definitely buy one.

Stylish Cirque prefers a tasteful black/navy/medium blue with a discreet logo, thank you.

Unfortunately my alter ego (Garish Cheerleading Cirque) voted for the bright blue/yellow combo, preferably with cargo pants style pockets up the arms to hold all her various requisite cheering accoutrements.  What can I say?  That girl has NO taste whatsoever!

PS - Ratty et al - I'm not taking the needs of the beersquad into account here, so the accoutrements I was referring to don't include an inbuilt stubby holder.  Although now I think of it......

So looks like at least 25 CRs would buy... I assume this is probably enough for a minimum first time order?
So how does one get the ball rolling on such stuff?
Does CR work with a specific manufacturer for all their gear?
If so does said manufacturer do such apparel and if not how do we go about sourcing a new manufacturer?

Either Navy or middle blue for me.  I prefer a zip but would wear either.  My main problem is the hood-I'm not a hoodie fan.  I prefer just a jacket or windcheater.  I'd probably get one though.

Think I could be tempted with this one too.......I voted Navy blue, but happy with middle blue too.   Fabric wise - are you thinking fleece or a knit cotton Stella?    Top effort to get this up and going in such a short time....

Oh, yes. Zip-up, so that you can take it off before a race without having to take your hat off. I've voted for bright yellow. And you've got to be able to get your name on the back. Great idea. How about CR beanies?

Hmmm... I was probably thinking fleecy though it seems the PCRG ones are popular and I have idea what fabric they're made out of! I suppose the CafePress ones (for example only of course) seem to look about what I had in my head:

Some CR bling too??

Only problem I can see with creating this ensemble is having to do a new run of CR caps with the visor offset 90 degrees.

Hi Kevin,

I've just ordered Hoodies for our Tri Club (Balance).

I got them here http://www.hilloceansky.com.au/ costing approximately $30 plus GST which included artwork that we provided to them to be placed on the hoodie.

If you need more advice just ask me.

Cheers,
AK

No worries - have just voted :vava:

Personal opinion, if it's a jumper and no zip I probably wouldn't wear one without a hood... I'm not a fan of the "windcheater".
If it's a zip then I'd be more likely to wear without a hood... but I like hoods - probably something to do with my Gen Yness! Lol!

Anyways, that's my opinion only & CR is a democratic community so majority rules!

Just to throw another option into the mixing pot......could we do a fleece AND a hoodie??     Fleece will be too warm in a month or so (which I will imagine it will take to get this up and running), and a lighter weight hoodie/jacket/jumper is always handy.   Maybe a sleeveless fleece?   They could be the same colour and print design......OK, I'll stop now.

I think it's a great idea and will go with what is decided.    Over to vote on the poll Brick has put up...

I think that (and this cld just be me and my ability to be easily confused) people are using the same terms to potentially mean different things!

Fleecy to me is "tracksuit" fabric...so the smooth part outside and the fuzzy warm stuff (fleece) on the inside.

Any idea what the fabric is that doesn't have the fuzzy warm stuff? Like, just a sturdy cotton?

Maybe we need to decide zip OR no zip but offer both hood AND no hood? Judging by the voting I think the zips have it at this stage.

As to getting your name on the back - which is great - I'd suggest this would have to be done on your own... if you order a size, get your name on it, it arrives in the mail and it's not the right size you're going to be stuck with it, if you order a plain one and it's not the right size you can still exchange it.

Of course Brick. I'm not sure where you were disagreeing with me - I'm all for a hoodie with a zipper.

At any rate, it sounds like this is going to degenerate into 400 million opinions and no general consensus that most gear threads result in.

Agree Stella.

Just to clarify (not necessarily continue the options or confuse discussion though)   I talk of fleece in terms of polar fleece fabric ....so a sleeveless fleece is a vest thing (not like the sleeveless tracksuit tops from the 80's).    The fabric without the fuzzy warm stuff I would call jersey knit (like T shirts or a more sturdy cotton like the rubgy tops).  Most sports wear has spandex or something stretchy in it too.    Not sure what I would call tracksuit fleece as you have mentioned .....probably tracksuit fleece, and I must admit I hadn't thought of it.

OK, nuff said by me......onto the important things like.........zip or no zip and hood or no hood.     :vava:

100% awesome

My Vote is for Coolrunning Safari suits, however we should go for the Don Dunstan short pant version
