Here's another.

Unfortunately I can't find the one of TB on the ground and the link to the old photo's is bust.
And you don't need to climb any fence, plenty of room to even get a bike through.

You could try emailing Brett, or sending a pm.
Otherwise there will probably be plenty of CR's cars at the start that you could leave gear in, just make sure you leave it with someone who is going to finish before you.
Will see everyone bright and early.

Great day out this morning, thanks to Brett (BDC) and his helpers for putting on an excellent show once again, although I did look forward to picking up a can of lemonade at the finish, but I can fully understand with the popularity now of the event it would cost $'s. (Ed: maybe it was phased out years ago, but I do remember last time it went down a treat).
Last time I ran the BRT it was 2007 or 2008, I really enjoyed the out and back format of the course this year, yes even the head wind on the out.
The plan was just to average 5:00 min pace the whole way, achieved that with a little bit in the bank, 4:54 out and 4:48 back. Thanks to Eat`Em, Ponder and Blueboy for the company to Drysdale, and Blueboy for setting the pace on the return, albeit a little quicker than what I had planned, he took off eventually after we had to stop at the crossing for the train at about 29k. 1/2 Mara split at 21.1 - 1:42:23 (Back 1/2 M split, last 21.1 - 1:40:04 Happy with that).
Only drank about 200ml of water the whole trip, even though I carried a full hand held with me from the start, also didn't use either of the 2 gels I carried the whole way, funny just felt like I didn't need to refuel at all. Very odd.
Great to see and say g'day to quite a few CR's out on the course, especially before/after the Drysdale turnaround, Slow Sue and Awiseman being blasts from the past. Quite a few missing from the ranks however, speaking of which will be interesting in the final numbers, i'll have a guess at maybe around 200 all up ? Suppose it is a free event, and bound to be dropouts. Ed: 237 final numbers.
Anyway for the record here's my run data, 2:44:43 on the Garmin, will be interesting the time that was written down though as had to queue for a couple of mins. Ed: spot on with 2:44.

19 downloadsNo, my HR didn't hit 200 at about the 19k mark, just a glitch or lack of electrode gel, my pace certainly didn't change during my "cardiac arrest".
Congrats to everyone who ran, there were some nice times at the pointy end of the "training run" too.
Also well done to Ponder and Pbig for picking up a couple of great random prizes.
Thanks again Brett, well organised.
Gold coin donation next year to fund the lollies & soft drinks at the end.

when the eventual 2nd place guy drew up alongside I tried to go faster and he told me it wasn't a race. I told him it was... and he took off.
Now is it a not a race because the organizer says it isn't... or do I go with the vibe of some of the other guys who finished near me who mostly seemed to be racing?.. anyway I reckon it's a race... but I'd just like to say that Two Bays is not a race.
--------
lovely day for a run.
forgot my 'nutrition' but had a couple of scungey bidons in my bag. filled them with water from the hose on the platform.
found a couple of gels - leaking- and a muesli bar in the bottom of my bag so I was covered for carbs too... though who knows how fresh they were.
turned on the garmin to find it was so out of charge it would turn off before it could even tell me low battery.
so I had to wing it. asked some of the people around in the first couple of km if they had garmins... none did.
anyway ran about 4:01/km compared to last years 4;03/km so pretty happy that it all went well despite my lack of attention to race day logistics.
good to see lots of people at the turnaround. the outnback nature of the revised course does have that benefit. you get to see how the race is going for other people.
onya brett c!

Anyway for me this was my first BRT and i chose the drysdale to queenscliffe option. Was a weekend of steppig well out of my comfort zone this weekend. first yesterday have to catch 2 trains and deal with the city.
then today. Being vision impaired i wouldnt normally run a course i havent had a chance to at least walk or run acconmpanied first. Plus i left my cap at home and as i rely on contrast i cant use sunnies and cant handle glare . fortunatley the bait shop was open near the start and i solved that little issue
So i was told all i had to do was follow the rail trail. Ok ummm found the bit where ou have to head down a road and stopped thinking ok where did i stuff up
then next hiccup come to a point where i see a guy just ahead turn ok easy but then another guy crossed the road and ran the other way. Ekkk which to follow. another bit of panic as i stood on the corner till a group of girls came past and headed up the trail. by this stage i was getting tired and struggling with the little uphills toward the end. Part of me said waqlk but the stubborn pqrt said 3 kms you can do this. A quick check on time maths in head and i realised not only could i do it i could finish in 1.51 well under my 2 hour goal. so with a couple of km to go i dug deep found something and managed to finish in 1.49.. Over the moon is an understatement and to top it off Kevin Cassidy didnt manage to catch me hahaha
Mentally and physically drained now. for me running is very tiring mentall as i have to stay switched on the whole time to avoid falling and with the hiccups that really wore me out. Plus 17km havent run that far since i got sick and wasnt sure if i coul.well i can and now to the next big goal.
Was great to meet the ponders Mrs ponder is lovely and very encouraging. hope you do really well on the thesis. Was not suprised when rohan flew past just as i started out looking fresh and makingit all look so easy. Spectre was looking good till he sat on the grass at the finish. And poor ol pops kevin I think next run a walker needs to be arranged for him. LOL
So between devil bend and BRT thagts 2 runs alone and it feels good. Getting more confident as i go.
Ok thats long enough.
Brett awesome organising will be back next year hopefully doign the big kids run. thankyou to you and your helpers for making a great day perfect

My legs are aching now, went out really hard & fast (for me, that is) and finished with a whimper, sort of. Can't complain, as a training run I now know where I'm at regarding the Melbourne Marathon; that was the plan. Finished around 2:35 and I'm happy with that.

Yes, very happy with my Cotton-on voucher
Pity I hadn't cottoned on that running 24km yesterday and going out at sub 4:30 pace uphill and into the breeze would come back to bite me eventually. I knew it was too fast but felt good (
Good to catch up with so many familiar faces on such a lovely day - one out of the box it seems, given what we've had and what's coming next week. Thanks Brett and crew for such a well-organized event, can't believe it's still free given the resources and facilities provided! The out-and-back course is a vast improvement, not only logistically for organizers and runners alike, but also socially - it's great being able to see everyone out on the course, and to have the opportunity to involve friends and family with the shorter run and train. Only disappointment was the "after party" - breakfast at Gusto was not the same post-run get together as previous years, but that's probably inevitable with the increased numbers.

I ended up as a non starter after dropping a 24" monitor on myself last weekend. Seem to have damaged my shins somehow (but the monitor had a soft landing and survived!) . Not a good way to leadup to this years Melbourne Marathon, but I guess thats just the way things seem to be going this year....

Ran the first half with Chilli, Blueboy & Ponder at 5min kms (it has been awhile)
Made the turn and had had enough.... jogged (shuffled?) back in a pw of 3.14 ....
Thinking that the 60+kms from the tan had caught up with me (and the bike ride on Saturday - will I ever learn - probably not)
On the up side got to see plenty of CR folk out on the trail and the weather was great
And the hot chips were great too .... !!!

Mrs Ponder is lovely, but I may be a little biased. Her goal was just to finish, and even that seemed in jeopardy at a couple of points. I enjoyed running with the other guys for the first 20K when I met up with the Mrs. I went at her pace for the next 10k, and then felt like another run, so did the last 4k alone. I quickly recorded my time and grabbed my phone, then ran back to Mrs Ponder who had 1k to go, and finished it with her. Net result was 25k of running and 11k of brisk walking (this was actually tougher on my post Tan Ultra legs than the running funnily enough). Very happy just to be out enjoying the weather, company and scenery, so it was good that it was not a race
I do think it is good with the new course getting to see so much more of the field heading the other direction.

Yes i guess i do owe mrs ponder a coffee. Am really unwell today a combination of running a bit quick a bit far and getting overheated which always sets of my Ms. Plus i think ?Because i won the bet Kevin passed me his cold meanie.
However the weather is looking great for sunday not sure if anyones keen but i wouldnt mind doing a few kms on the rat run perhaps with a dip afterward and then coffee.
Not sure whats on this weekend for anyone but its a thought ANd although you may be biased mr ponder you have an amazing wife. wish i had her confidence and self esteem

Was nice to run with Steve (essaytee) and pbig for a while, and have a quick chat with Rohan at the finish. Whilst I wasn't training for MM (or anything else specific) at the moment, this is definitely a must-do run on my annual calendar. I really think the fact that most are using it as a 'prep' run rather than going after a specific time/result makes it more relaxed atmosophere. The new course definitely helped this too, with 17k runners going every which way
Steve, if you can keep up that form for MM you'll be nailing your goal time no worries at all!

luckily for me he is very biased
but i kept going somehow and eventually finished, those last few hills were a killer.
I was actually thinking as I was walking how amazing your run was, and was inspired to keep going. We tried to stop Kevin and I did manage to get him to turn around and come back about 4 steps, but I guess telling him that I would earn myself a free coffee if I kept him talking wasn't the right tack, and he then sprinted off into the distance.
I would have loved to meet up for coffee this weekend but as Mark mentioned, big girls weekend planned with two of my sisters, two sister in laws, and two cousins and our 10 daughters (3 to 19 years) maybe another weekend.

Rohan it isn't a race and most people don't race it. That is the attraction for many people. Some will race and that is up to them and even if I wanted to stop that I couldn't. As long as everyone takes care at the road & train crossings, I don't mind how fast they run in between. You deserved to get burnt off at the end after telling eventual 2nd across the line it WAS a race! He ran 2.29 at Christchurch this year and picked up the pace in the last 10k as he does in many of his Sunday runs - for him it wasn't a race until you surged and then said that!!
Hope to see everyone back in 2011 & more blue skies!

I wanted to wait at finish and cheer you on but was dragged away to be fed and watered lol
Brett i think a fee next year would be a good idea even if you dont feel a need to use the money to cover the cost of the run with that amount of entrie even $5 dollars put toward chairity could raise a nice amount.
Would it be possible next year to flatten thos last couple of hills on way back please they hurt
